dd  4 11

Judy out today--- her head has been leaking for 2 days – and now the rest of her is complaining about needing more sleep and less external coverage ( helping me).

Ok... now driving-----  as I adjust my driving to my age and whatever medications I happen to be on at the moment     ---it would be exceedingly helpful if any of the local camera people could sign up for these trips to adult care centers ---it would involve getting organized and loading up at 9:30 to arrive at the facility at 10 and spend about 45 minutes drive home you probably would be back by 11:30 certainly  by 12 unless we get distracted by some ice cream stand or luncheon place  or whatever.     Most of our appointments are for 10:00 in the morning anyway..  I could use the help driving ..

Seeing as I'm generally awake and at least doing paperwork along about three to  4:00 in the morning... by the time it gets to be 9:00 that would be a normal person's lunch and I do find that if I have a semi meal at that point that my body thinks that 10:00 ought to be nap time in which case I should not be driving so I will be trying to get all my chores done somewhere between 6:00 and 9:00 in the morning..  all my doctors--- three or four of them---- have made statements on paper that they see no reason I should not drive it's just I personally know how important a nap is to me so I have to avoid driving during that time...  This does allow for the fact if someone else drives me somewhere anytime during the day and it becomes necessary to back up the trailer it's possible to wake me up and have me back up the trailer and then I'll quietly nod off while you drive me home.  the only other option is to eat--- food or better yet.... icecream--- that will keep me awake and alert. at any hour...

My latest mechanical problem is to try and get my car inspected----- the sticker right now is February of 24 at least the year is right... the problem is I took out the back seats to accommodate the dogs so therefore the seat belts are not necessary and I did not notice that one of them was totally gone---  I think chewed ....

My car needs some severe attention....  actually just removing the trash would help.   the coffee holders up front are covered all over the bottom with about 1/4 an inch of hair dog hair///. vacuuming would help too

today's trip it is to a facility in Danvers usually very quiet facility I would love to have help...

DD 4 10’

SO FAR THIS MORNING... I HAVE BEEN AWARDED...A COMPLETE COOKWARE SET. AN ELECTRIC DRILL, ,,, a farm cooler...

Small generator...  and a lunch box ! plus I must have said something to generate comments about a new roof—because I am getting all kinds of 40% off offers on new roofs....

I really do not know where to start on that one... except........

I did check with my usual heavy equipment dealer ( the one who has  burried an odd dead horse or two) and he is an old timer with eeeooonnns  Of experience....—I also checked with his secretary to ask what they charge for  “stuff”just automatic charges  like.   . Like one guy with a chainsaw is $85 an hour—one guy who drives the excavator is $175/hr —( with excavator)-----that’s  basic information when you start dealing with conrtactors....and if the manure pile were in better shape , it would be a positive( to compost)  instead of a negative (too much which is not manure).

And now in my daily income emails I am getting all sorts of “information” about roofs –makes you reallllllllllly worry about the odd typo which inadvertently contacts some salacious web and thereafter you receive exceedingly strange  offers.

Judy contacted me last night at about 6:30 to take pills----- this is a significant change—she usually calls at 8:00 am and pm. Because she has her al;arm on the phone set for that time/.... why early?  She said she was exhausted—and sounded like it... so everyone please say a prayer for judy’s health and stamina...

Trying to get a simple tail light fixed for the trailer involved sitting 3 hours at ira—a miserable 3 hours..

However... it was just after we had “done”. That childrens day care for “challenged “ children and 61 kids had patted larkey--- both sizzle and noodle were patted by maybe half that – as both of them know how to run and hide....a woman approached judy and handed her a crumpled piece of paper – saying she had seen us come and go-and what a blessing we were to the children...

The crumpled paper was a $100 bill

To have someone realize we are not just automatic state funded entertainment   made our day..   how would anyone know that sitting for 3 hours to get a tail light fixed Was part of having lackey be patted by 61 kids.  This is the generic support  also supplied by  you all "the camera people "  which keeps us going...

p.s. ( and noodles  so far is a huge addition to the “dog and pony show” of goldys farm !)

 DD 4 9

DIFFICULT TO DEAL THIS MORNING—PLUS I AM DUE FOR BLOOD TEST SHORTLY. THE DEAGLE HOSE IS A WRECK—THE HOUSE IS A WRECK—THAT WAS A BIGGER TREE THAN WE THOUGHT IT WAS...  INS GUY HAS COME AND GONE--- AND SEEMS REASONABLE—BUT WHO KNOWS.

HOW LONG THIS WILL GET DRAGGED ON  I DON’T KNOW..WITH RAIN AND GLASS DRIPPING ON ANYONE SITTING IN THE SITTING ROOM.

SIMPLE MISTAKES ARE RESULTING IN HUGE PROBLEMS—WRONG PHONE NUMBERS---BANK DEPOSIT ERROR.....SOMEHOW OUR INSURANCE IS LISTED FOR A HORSE BARN ON 37 BOXFORD RD... AND THAT IS NOT TRUE...  IT IS ON 45 BOXFORD RD... THINGS LIKE THAT ---- I AM OVERWHELMED....

AT LEAST FOR THE MOMENT...:(

What's the expression I don't know whether I'm on foot or horseback?  we have the insurance man supposed to be coming today we have a adult care facility to go to and for some reason my car is not providing the correct electrical impulse to keep the tail lights of the trailer going that one sounds weird.  OK. there is hey gizmo which you can plug in to your car to make sure the correct things are lighting up that correct light bud has one and with all the trailers we have I think we probably ought to get one you can plug it into your car and it will give you what's happening in my case it looks like the fuse that runs the trailer lights.. Has blown... and I don't know where those fuses are even kept so I will be going to ira Toyota today I which is not too far from me we're going to with the dogs at 10:00 anyway what you will be taking the puppy for today's diversion..  saying that I can't hook the trailer till we figure out why the car is in telling the trailer to put its life on.

that thing that bud has it's about 6 inches long and it is also a junction for having to plug in the older 4 bar trailer connection.... and he said it was not expensive I think that's probably a good idea.

among all the other things that happened is the cabin lost Internet connection either with the tree or with the tree removal whichever Everybody around here is like a little bit on edge. with too much so we're having to haul  hey from Goldie farm to Meredith..  namely Meredith is out of hay and shaving.. and no one's even heard from the hey guy no why.  Luckily we have a nice day today so at least the complication of rain pouring into the living room of the house Which keeps Elizabeth busy playing musical manure buckets.

we have a winner who did not get her should have been prizes because apparently we don't have the whole address.. sue Coleman--- what will I have is Hastings 3915 that is not enough mailing address is that in the UK or the United states ohh wherever what do you want one more that address was sent there apparently we have a second   for Henderson Columbia MO.. we need a better address there too.

Other than that life is normal--ohh

i asked dana to save stumps for forest seating for the veteran project...****

 dd 4 7

Today's puppy project is working on 'stay'. ... he insists on following me everywhere I go so I'm now trying to work on stay and I'll be right back He's very very dedicated and cheerful... and oh how he loves water you just seen the picture of him playing with the water in his cage unfortunately he played with the water in the kitchen and tipped over a whole bucket which seems to have gone away I don't know where because we're on a cement slab but the floor seems dry at the moment their  have nothing left to mop up.

My other brilliant idea to report at the moment is janine's idea of washing grapes and putting them in the freezer----- she said that's her low calorie way of getting around ice cream that's really interesting.

I will feel an awful lot better ----or worse ---when the insurance people get into motion---  apparently the inspector had to wait until all snow was off the roof so he could see what happened---- it didn't seem to matter. that he could go in the house and look up at the roof and see what happened also..   but there are fringes that I am seeing apparently some of the heavier branches hit the heating unit By the front door... And the Internet cable to the cabin got stretched and broken..  Now repaired..  .

And the pieces of the farm in terrible disrepair not because of any tree fall but just poor management like  dog  runs.. off the nuthouse. Got taken down to provide the six foot fencing to keep the adult dogs in the puppy pen--- simple things like that but this farm was functioning very well ----very strangely at times but it was very operational now we don't have a place to turn dogs out because the fences have all been torn or destroyed by a tree whatever..   The other day we had eight cars down by the barn instead of in the parking lot..  Making it a super challenge to try and turn the trailer around.. and I wanna keep that trailer hooked up and ready to go because I'm now signed up to go to these daycare  4 or 5 days a week...  a donkey and a horse and a dog or whatever and I can't  or I won't because I shouldn't have to make 8 phone calls to go out and do my job.

Cloud is doing a super job of illustrating the activity... I think last month our count was 146 people entertained...and as for the other people who are using goldies farm. .    i did ask dana to leave behind the huge stumps--- I remembered the veterans were looking for  ”seats”  of the woodland variety... with this house/tree collision, we now have even more ”SOONS and LATERS and  incredible number AFTERS and NEXT’S ”.... for undone projects... while our activity at amusing the day care folk is blooming.... with almost more requests  than we can handle...ALMOST !!!!

But we are on it !!!

5 men. 3 chainsaws.3 trucks and an excavator later and we have less of a mess than we had before.. I have to  admit the musical manure tubs is not quite as fascinating as it once was.... I could finally get out in my car ---which technically is warmer than the cabin... so I could drive around and see what was going on and there's a lot going on,,  the insurance company said to go ahead and clean up and save pictures—so we have done that..

Luckily—I think--- Janine convinced shawn and his crew to get us cleaned up before he went on with his “normal customers”

,I am only able to observe from my car--- I did not do a walk thru—the heaviest part of the tree fell  on the deagle house, literally splicing it into two pieces and then the rest of the tree put its various limbs straight down through the roof into the sitting area in front of the fireplace... taking a lot of the roof and all the skylights with it. and more rain is projected.

I don't know if he eventually got a tarp over the area or not but that was the plan. i saw pizza arrive for his crew so they worked "late".

the rest of the plan is that the insurance inspector there is a desk person and then a field person both on our job the desk person told me to take all kinds of photographs and save any bills ----we had the field person said they only like him to come out once and inspect and he did not want to come out when there was still snow on the roof because he had to observe the entire roof I don't know why because you can stand in next to the fireplace and just look up and if you can see the sky it seems to me there's a default in the roof -----but I'm not an insurance inspector---- I can hardly wait I don't know what they're going to do about the deagle house,  - and technically.. it looks like another piece of tree was involved and it took out the “porch”  of kennel #1 – and then there is the driveway—and the second tree to just break off about 30 feet in the air— leaving a very confused squirrel trying to deal with his bed of leaves blowing out this new “door”

and life goes on.

 dd 4 5

Just when you stop to think you realize you shouldn't stop to think because you have no idea what's going to happen next and in our case a tree came down hitting the house going through the roof and apparently squashing the deagle house,, I haven't been up there to look at it..I've seen  Photographs and spent a lot of time wondering about the basic construction of that house with regard to being struck with an awfully large tree.. It is a Boyne falls log home where the logs are vertical and if I remember correctly they have a small spline between each pair of logs which are then nailed together with a very long spike,,, and the logs overhead in the living area are basically in tension---holding the walls from  falling out as the walls take all the weight of the roof.

I looked forward to trying to figure out what happened because the hardware from the skylights ended up in the kitchen on the other side of a 8 foot wide stone fireplace and chimney which maybe  holding the whole thing up at the moment,   both Elizabeth and husband nick are extremely capable and intellectually coping with a house with no roof... Elizabeth and I discussed the 8 manure buckets that she has distributed all over the living room area and how they make a different tone as the drips fall just as many have done with wine glasses she now has going with manure buckets.... and I told her of my scheme in Lynnfield running a siphon hose between 3 garbage cans so they all would fill at the same time.

Fortunately both Elizabeth and nick have the general attitude of dealing with whatever is served up. And the general attitude of helping me has not wavered as Elizabeth produced a Turkey dinner with gravy and nick came over to make sure the the extension cord was usable between the laundry building and me in the cabin...

I do fear the cold and that pellet stove has to have electricity to run.... which in my mind removes it's basic usefulness..  my old Glenwood cook stove would never let you down just for lack of electricity....

Who would have thought that the only place without an instant on generator is the cabin where I now live for reasons too complicated to even get into.

If anybody out there has engineering background who can tell me things to look at I certainly would appreciate the help all I could think of at the moment is to locate my 4 foot long level hopefully it's in the workshop to be sure that the building hasn't moved off the vertical... if that's the case we have a much bigger problem.. but assuming for the moment that that's not the case we need to get into the back of bud's world where I had ordered cases of tarps of various sizes and I have a feeling that the tarp that was on the donkey cafe is what we're going to need to cover part of the roof of the house and I think I did order a case of those about a year ago knowing that one after another would get ripped up..

Good old Goldie is right on the ball because among the emails that I had today was one from tarps.com

how appropriate !!
