NPO after midnight-- nothing per oral????  usually it is teh dogs...today me-- just water..i have a surgical date mid afterrnoon...-- that is a long time from the midnight-- i did manage a chicken alfreado at 11:30 but  i do miss teh coffee...

i wish i knew more about alot of things...so i coud understand why these nursing homes have that awful game show/ commercial tv on when i do believe with some schmartz it coudl be hooked up to explore and if not us, the  ocean goldfish  camersa.    we have an adult day care center to do today and i have suggested judy take a poicture of teh                       

tv/internet stuff at each place and get a file togeter to present to cummings.-- so that they can go fix it.

 we have a pretty good data file of where we have been etc...  need to bulk it out... and get one day care center written up  for quick  understanding--  adn then have  a bunch of other.

i found out  yesterday that these "activities directors" have a group/club... so that is a way to contact many....

i have yet to verify that charlie of explore  would think this is a good idea..

in teh meantime---leaners and lifters---    also yesterday-- a typical situation of "wow how come i never knew all these wonderful dogs were available to go visit my mother in the nursing home..... -- could you come to my kids  kindergarden--  and could we bring a bus load to your farm to have lunch with teh doggy atmosphere?"  before any thought of "what supports you  and can i help with that.?"  tehn teh 85 year old guy-- in a lovely very ex-ensive car  came for teh tour-- and i thought "great maybe he can help"  and after 4 hours of showing him around and explqaing  how we get dogs imported.. he finally said-- " how do i apply to get one of these dogs donated to me?"

the poem says  20 leaners to 1  lifter--  we do have some. lifters...... immediately  i thiought of teh  guy who just offered me solutions to my pipe dream  - and in the meantiem bakes dog cookies-

often people think-- what can i do to help--- thie is a good thing--- but even better.....Sometimes it is what are my capabilities...... and how can that be helpful...... as opposed to "i  can't help shoveling snow because my back so i will do nothing. ....." --- great-- so fold laundry !!  do something besides "take"

so i tried to get a manual for my samsung smart tv....-- gwen got the mouse and keyboard hooked up to it... but i still need some clue--- so i went to my computer.. carefully typing in teh 47 digit model  number etc  and got the message that teh manual is available on teh samsung smart tv...  which is what i was trying to operate...

i have not continued at teh moment

kabota came and put the mower on the new little tractor--- well littler thattn the bigger one -- it has a catching device of 3 bags which it fills one at a time...if i would just read teh manual--- i have put that manual asside for bud tio decipher

it is a long way from a push mower !!  but i think might "vaqcuum"  stuff-- like maybe pine needles.

I HAD AN EMAIL THIS MORNING ABOUT LIFTERS AND LEANERS--  BEING IN A DOG FRAME  ---SOMEHOW I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE ABOUT DOGS LIFTING LEGS- HOWEVER IT WAS A DELIGHTFUL OLD POEM ABOUT  THE WORLD'S MASSES  BEING DIVIDED INTO 2 CLASSES- THE PEOPLE WHO LIFT AND TEH PEOPLE WHO LEAN-- IT IS TOO LONG FOR ME TO TYPE-- MAYBE LINDA CAN RE-D O IT FOR US...

I AM DELIGHTED WITH THE  CONCEPT OF ALL TEH LIFTERS WE HAVE IN OUR COMMUNITY..  ALL THE $10 CHICKEN BRICKS AND POO PICKERS TO KEEP US "ABLE" --WHAT A great group--- because this poem goes on to say in the world " there is only one lifter to twenty who  lean..." 

which makes our group exceptional to have accumulated teh higher percentage of lifters.

and teh lifting of spirits is a very valid lifting project !!  perhaps one of the more valuable ones.

that leaves teh pipe lifting to younger bodies...

next pipe problem is  it occurrs to me that having the horizontal pipe paired in equal legnths would be spectacular-- sounds simple... except we started with holes in the stone dust-- tehn cement-- problem is all those holes are different depths-- i thought of cutting pipe-- can be done... but putting 2 inches of stone dust back in th eholes might be easier and still effective.-- so if we just concentrate on teh above concrete measurement  we could manage.

*i do not know why- at one point in my career i was desparate to own those rolling step ladders you see in home depot etc... we now have 3-- two -- in green---that get you up to easily reach a 10 feet  pole and a shortie up 4 feet ( in purple)-- i do not know how i would gt these pips up for teh tarp  without  those rolling ladders-- just one of the misc thigs around that make somw  wierd thigs possible.

one of the green ones is being used in a building which shall remain nameless--- because if we pu in a flight of stairsw we would be billed for a two story building...

 that is somewhat like the donkey feeder--- if we have a tarp for teh roof, it is a temp tent- even if eventually teh underneeth  pipe would easily support a flimjsy plastic. roof. 

oh we do have scaffolding and tha lil gianT  ladder... but the rollers aRE LOVELY.

SO UNTIL SHE COMES DOWN WITH SOM MORE SYMPTOMS OF SOMETHING ELSE, THER E IS NO POINT IN CALLING vet ...  HOWEVER   IF HE IS HERE, I WILL MENTION IT.

PROBLEM OF THE DAY   - HOW TO GET TEH 12 ' PIPE SCREWED INTO THE  RIGHT ANGLE PIEcEs  THAT SCREWS INOT THE 10' tall  uprights to hold up teh tarp/canvas..

i know  of  only 2 pieces of 21 foot pipe in ipswich-- which  means to measure eh exact distance befor threading could be a problem...

exact measure  ... ARE  not wordS  in my normal vocabulary  so ---- i will need 6 of those "cross members... so i will staqrt with the longest span.... which if not correct, could be  cut again and used inteh 2nd longest span...  etc.....

i will feel better if i can get 2 cross members done right...

otherwise i wll have a bunch  of short \pieces of pipe all over craazy acres...

After today’s ( TUESDAY'S)blog I want to give encouragement. I am the woman from Louisiana who woke you 2 Sunday evenings. You told me “no” in a round about way due to distance. BUT, what you gave me was the baton. “Let your daughter do everything for the dog.” “Why are you tethered to the dog? You must not trust him.” “Did you but Chick bricks?” Lol! I have looked, watched, learned and am working with my 11yr old to train her new service Dane. She lost her mobility Dane back in Jan. 

It takes time! Lots of time! I’m ok with that but most do not realize nor would they place the value on the animal it really has. 

So...thank you for the “no” Thank you for the advice and all you and your staff do that is available to go find and study. 

As for the screen heroes that bash you, you know the drill...it’s a very strange place we live in today

animals avoid uncomfortable situations-- people seek them out --dog lying on couch--vs---- man struggling up mt everest...this basic insanity is maybe why i prefer animals.---- as a species we do not keep our mind on  any one goal... amazon and marketing get us to buy  and do things that don't make sense....you build a house to enjoy the comforts  and then go camping to lie  on the hard ground  amid teh bugs and  bears..  we take up ---painful hobbies like  riding  on  horses-- or in boats--- those  are obcessions with  an extrodnRY ammount of prep time to time spent actually  enjoying the named pursuit...

 making me wonder if teh  prep and upkeep is actrually the critical part-- namely the inane art of "i have to go sand the boat"  which can be any time all winter... or... " i have to go feed" - which has about a 12 hour window...   horses demand a schedule... so do dogs.... this is a good thing.

the overnight news decided that the people in communities where  life esxp[ectancy was over 100 had a few things in common...first was-- they had a schedule, then-- tehy ate nuts and berries-  and 3rd  they  lived in a multigenerational 

home/compound. .. oh yes--  and drank wine

i am delighted that our dogs help- so many people do things they  couldn't or wouldn't do  BD  ( before dog)-- we go to extrodonary extremes to  train our dogs to help walk and  balance   -- and be accepted in all public places-- but i get many calls a day for people who want a service dog  basically for emotional support- i don't know how you train a dog to help with that-- because the help that all dogs give anyone is not "trainable" - what is trainiable is manners  to be   joy to own and be acceptable in public.. i don't know how " they" will get around what is an emotional support  service dog...  but i sure can spot a dog that is not a service dog based purely on manners.

i am back to -- the airport-- i would have  a sign " all service animals must be stripped of all equipment and pass thru the xray alone." --- mostly that would stop people before they try to fake it... there might be a few  loose goats or turkeys  running around  but that would be the exception...

we get alot of inquiries about service dogs--  they have to fall into 2 catagories - people we could possibly help- and others- for whatever reason- are people we  do not think we could come up with a dog to help them-- mostly   that we do not have an unlimited supply of dogs-- teh people to whom i hav had to say no, also fall into 2 catagories... those  who  accept our limitations and go elsewhere for other solutions  and those who sit on the couch here and ask me why not them--- i feel terrible about it... but not every problem is solved by a dane.  there are a few who are  upset by  the  "no"  -- and the internet gives them perfect place to tell the world  what a terribly person i am... i figuer  i am in for 2 of those a month... 

 so letters  fom people who have our dogs and are doing a wonderful job  are nice for me to hear too.

i have not finished teh " CAFE DONK"  and ----already a complaint----it is comical really-10 years?15 years?  AGO... janine suggested we have a place for people to sit and watch teh donkeys- and i never had teh ttime/money to put it together- i NOW  have broken ALL construction record to have gone from conception to functionality in less than a week- mostly thanks to the company executives who sat on teh ground with screwdrivers and spoons and dug 30 holes for teh pvc pip "holes" like sonna tubes..   I  ORDERED A WHITE TARP FOR COVER... DESIGNED A STRANGE PIECE TO HOLD IT TOGETEHR AND FOUND A WILLING WELDER....   AND STILL to find the 1.5 gAV pipe....  i have bought out 3 home depos-- lowes didn't hav any--- teh commercial plumbing place had none-- and the pipe wholesale place would not sell me any AND I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH YET..  THANKFULLY SOME OF YOU CP'S HAVE SUGGESTED AMESBURY INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY  AS A SOURCE...-- I WILL GO THERE THIS MORNING.

YOU WANT TO DO IT OTHERWISE- GO HAVE YOUR OWN  DONKEY FARM.

 THE WORLDS WORST TIME OF YEAR IS  CHRISTMAS....TEH CANDY CANE TIME WHEN TEH DONKEYS -- WHO SEE PEPPERMINT CANDY AS TEH  ULTIMATE TREAT- AND THEY ARE THE EXACTI SIZE OF A KIDS FINGERS....I HAVE ALSO  USED A DIFFERENT TECHNIQUE WHEN THEY WERE IN THE HARNESS AS SANTA'S 8 TINY REINDEER...  JANINE OR I  HAVE DEVISED OTHER WAYS... BUT NOT TO BE DONE BY ANYONE ELSE....  WE WOULD TAKE EH TREAT AND TOUCH THEM BETWEEN TEH EYES AND RUB IT DOWN  THEIR FACE A DN SLIP IIT IN THEIR MOUTH..... FOR THE SAME REASON....   THEY MUST LEARN  THAT TREATS DO NOT COME FROM KIDS HANDS THAT ARE JUST REACHING FOR THEIR NOSE PAT.... EVEN WHNE THE KID HAS BEEN SLOBBERING ON A PEPPERMINT  CANDY CANE.. 

SO NOW...  LET ME REPEAT- TEH DONKEYS ARE TO BE GIVEN TREATS ONLY   FROM THE  9 INCH FRY PANS I HAVE  SITTING AND HANGING AROUND THE AREA--- OR TOSS TEHM IN THE FEEDER-- IF THOSE PANS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ... THEN DO NOT FEED TEH DONKEYS.  PERIOD ! 

SO I WILL NOW ASK ALL CP'S TO HELP WITH THIS ---

if you ever see anyone feed the donkeys out of their hand-- without using the frying pans that i have sitting right by teh donks. PLEASE  take a photo of that person eeithr on camera-- or wi th your cell phone. i might  have to ask them to leave and might even have to get rid of the donkey involved.

IT IS  A PRETTY SIMPLE RULE..  MY 9" PURPLE FRY PANS ( SO GENEROUSLY SENT BY A CP..) ARE PERFECT AND AVAILABLE... USE THEM.

WHATTA WAY TO START A MONDAY

Turner hill- a very impressive golf club- invited--- by way of judy--- sdp to bring dogs  and talk- usually what i do there i tlak about 1/2 hour and tehn answer questions--  i was tehre for an hour and a half-of people with very good questions-- in the group was a contractor who knew about my pouring of the cement.... a couple  men from the "main office"  --  a resiodent who knew someone had relaesed peacocks there long ago ( me-- when they started to develope the partridgeberry developenemt and i had to get rid of them as realllllyyyyy noisy.)  turner hill had a peacock as their logo---some woman had just had an "eagle"  and handed us $200 by some strange rule of golf that they had to donate money to somethign when they got  2  under par-- teh audience was generous and we left with about $500-- plus we may have aquired anorehr retired nurse....

as i drove in the beautifully manicured  drive-- we went past the odd building where once ann getchell and trish mosely  ( and i ---  to a lessor extent) had orrainged to house a large group of  pony club kids in one of the buildings-- they spent a couple weeks cleaning up the  abandoned ?dorm?   and were all set to hav teh kids arrive when  a large colony of bees swarmed in one cornerr of teh building.  i was on teh  end of teh operation to deal with all the kids horses in a  huge tent- and  i lost track of teh solution-- somehow it got solved...  but it does define the kind of  disaster   common in a crazy acres atmosphere .

Did you see there is a new class called “adulting” and it is for millenniums. This class will teach cooking, check book balancing, repairing a wall, budgeting etc. It is for life skills that are missed because no more Home Ec, shop class. How has it taken so long to figure this out?

I just had to let you know that I’m on my 1st mini vacation with June at a place called the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck,NY. It’s like a huge summer camp for people who love meditation and yoga. Anyhow, everyone here loves having a big dog around but the best thing is it’s the first time I’ve encountered seeing squirrels and groundhogs with June while she’s working. June stood still and stared but did not run or pull me any way. I know I shouldn’t have been surprised that she behaved so well, but at my house, I’ve got plenty of squirrels and she always goes nuts trying to chase them, but she does that when she’s without her harness because she’s not working when she’s at home. 

June has been an absolute God-send. I’m here at the Omega Institute participating in a Mother’s Day weekend for bereaved mothers and just her presence has helped bring so much joy to all of the moms here. Thank you for pairing us up together 🙏❤️

I HEAR MASS IS THINKING OF LICENSING DOG TRAINERS-- a touchy topic -- but i am very upset when i see some of the charges for dog training-- especially service dogs...  ( NOT OURS--- BECAUSE OF ALL YOU CAMERA POEPLE, WE ARE ABLE TO DONATE OURS)

MY CRITERIA FOR A DOG TRAINER IS .. DOES THIER  DOG BEHAVE?? 

 THINK MEGAN/WALTER  .. MEGAN HAD A WONDERFUL MOMENT WHEN SHE TOOK WALTER BACK TO THAT MILLION DOLLAR EMERGENCY VET PLACE FOR MORE BLOOD WORK...  SHE SAT DOWN ON A CHAIR... AND WALTER SAT DOWN ON THE CHAIR NEXT TO HER...IMMEDIATELY SHE HAD A CROWD OF PEOPLE WITH CAMERAS... EVERYONE REMEMBERED WALTERAS BEING SUCH A WONDERFULLY BEHAVED DANE...

IT IS AMAZING- TO HAVE PEOPLE BE SO SHOCKED AT A DOG WHO BEHAVES IN A CIVILIZED MANNER...TEH GENERIC FARMERS DOG DOES-- BECAUSE THEY SURVIVE LOOSE  AND CAN HAVE AN ADJENDA OF THEIR OWN ON OCCASION.

COMPARE TH to a dog living in a town with a lieah law and no dog park... they can not even pee on a tree without supervision.

i have never understood why one person objecting to a dog has such power over 99 tax paying people who own dogs.

my first encounter with ADI was to meet one of teh members who was panic'd to have me turn 3 dogs loose in public -- no leash -no collar-  and have perfect control over them-  a great part of that control is being free to do their own thing on thier own time...

I WISH ANY TOWN WITH A LEASH LAW HAQD TO PROVIDE A FENCED AREA FOR A DOG PARK... IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS LIET THE DOG PEOPLE SOLVE IT THEMSELVES...  IHAVE EVEN SEEN A BIFURCATED DOG PARK WHERE TEH TINY'S HAD AN INDIVIDUAL RUN...
