SEPT 19 2015
i am not totally with it this morning... there are so many things to do before dog fest....a nd it is now....but... what is amazing is ... there are soooooo many people capable of helping do everything that i continue to be shocked...
it is wonderdul to be able to siT at "outside mailcall" and
ask someone to go get my" boxcutter knife- and there were at least 6 speople who knew exactly where it was kept ( with the ghost --- in my left hand drawer )
trash got picked up --- boxes collapsed and orer restored....
***********
cza continues to be a learning environment for "city folk"....---
kudos to the fire building crew... when asked to boil water in a pot over THE  OUTDOOR FIREPIT, they were seen to both be on their phones and did get a pot boiling in about an hour total -- purpose being to boil water for ears of corn-- maybe sunday..******
the spirit sticks are beautifully interesting.... and can be seen on the puppy hill camera...
we ae going to set up more tables on the grass by the guest house-- the scene of last year's bolt of lightning "somewhere over the rainbow" bang/crash******
TOY OF THE DAY
-- camera mark... bless him... has a new toy... a drone-- with camera... so he will be playing with it-- the pictures it takes are darn interesting.... THEY WILL BE APPEARING FROM MARK.****NOW... IN SPITE OF TEH FACT THAT THERE WILL BE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HERE TODAY... CHORES MUST BE DONE-- SO I BEST GET AT IT...**************Hi Carlene, I'm very sorry Princess Ruckus & I could not make it to Dogfest. We are there in spirit (stick)ha ha! I would like to comment on your DD post of last Sunday 9/13 by CP Susan. It was a great read & all so true. Yes, you marvel at how quite it can be with 30-50 dogs at SDP, the emotional feelings & energy experienced, & an "organization of WONDERFUL people who want nothing more than to make life better for others." I want to thank all the CPs who generously & unselfishly give their time and donations to this great organization. As a recipient I'm truly one of the lucky ones & it would not have been possible without all of you. THANK YOU!!! Last year I was at Dogfest following up on my letter of inquiry & letter of invitation to visit SDP. Upon arrival for my visit I was completely caught off guard by this Dogfest thing. However, all of your enthusiasm & kindness quickly put me at ease. You were all so welcoming answering my many questions & helping me to navigate to meet those beautiful Danes. As I sit here composing this (Ruckus is asleep on the lounge/throne lol) I reflect on meeting so many of you who came from near & far. Many helped me from my wheelchair into the v-pen to visit with the pups, scooter Karen shared some of her treat "stash" on puppy hill, Grace, Megan & Katie were so patient answering my questions, & Carlene gave me the ultimate test. I got out of my wheelchair & walked hanging on to my son's back pocket. Yeah, his pants stayed up! It has been a fantastic year & with Princess Ruckus's help I've become stronger physically & mentally. I've been able to continue my volunteer work (Ruckus loves the kids), I'm not as afraid to venture out in public on my own, I can walk in my yard, and the wheelchair has sat folded up in my garage for over 8 months! So, to all in celebration of Dogfest 2015 Princess Ruckus & I say "have a great time & thank you woof woof." Live, love, laugh

I
HAVE THINGS TO DO.... HOPING FOR AN OUTDOOR MAILCALL THIS AFTERNOON...

Carlene,

It was great to be back at the farm and to see you all today! I have a contribution for Doggie Daily: try as I might, I can't replicate your unique style of writing well enough to ghost write the Doggie Daily, but I tried to come close with mimicking the New England accent! Here's my contribution.

"Widda Great Dane, e'erybody yor Naybuh"

Don't get me wrong. There's nothing more charming than a friendly face speaking a Boston accent. We always enjoy traveling back East, but this was our first time returning to the Boston area with Ethel. And this time, I've never encountered so many new "naybuhs jus' wantin' ta halp".

It was incredible, heads turned, people stood, chairs were pushed in and cars stopped whenever we went by. All through downtown to north end to the back bay neighborhoods of Boston, I got offers for help from some of the friendliest Bostonians I'd ever met. People have this reaction to Ethel in the Midwest, as well, but this was a remarkably different Boston than I'd known before.

"Gawd, dat's a huss ya got dere!" We heard over and over again, but left and right strange things were happening. First our rental car got upgraded without asking because Ethel had the bluest eyes our attendant had ever seen. Then our parking ticket for the garage got validated without needing a payment from a nice gentlemen who owned a Corgie himself. Then "wadduh" was brought out to Ethel by strangers whenever we stopped for coffee or to eat or even just to rest for little while. People moved aside in lines, mainly so they could snap photos of us. Our table at dinner was in a remote spot with beautiful scenary looking over the Harbor, while people crowded in the terrace. What was happening?

I can only deduce that Bwahstan, a favorite city already, is a city of people who appreciate relationships. Bostonians responded to the relationship I have with Ethel with the friendliness of a "naybuh", love responding in kind to love.

I knew I gained a travel buddy with Ethel. I didn't know I'd also gain the help and kindness of hundreds of new "naybuhs" as well.

Thanks!
Julia

Good morning,

Thomas continues to amaze me, as well as the folks around town. When they see him, there is still that moment of awe at his size and overall handsomeness, but it moves quickly past that. They seem so accustomed to well-behaved dogs in public places that they really notice and acknowledge  how stellar he is.

I’ve relied on that stellar performance quite a few times during the stresses of moving. He’s s been there for me (okay, there were one or two times I had to wake him up first). JAs we approach our three-year anniversary - wow - I truly can’t remember life without him.

A big HELLO to all those at DogFest. Pick up a bag of poops for me.

Enjoy,

sept 17 2015
i had all kinds of brilliant ideas at 2am... and didn't write them down...
so i am feeling less than brilliant.

most amusing thing of the moment......
i got up to take over from grace before 5am   so she coudl get some sleep
and she opted to stay in the "nursery" on the barker beds... 2 of tehm... she ie tall

this barker bed bit is getting serious....i have now tried the mattress topper concept-- and it is better than none... but those dog beds are so far  better than anyth9ng else i have slept on... i know pam likes them... an d now to have grace choose to stay on them as opposed to sleep on a regular bed upstars, is another statement...

i am going to have to write to mr barker.....  maybe i should get a few other people to try them on camera... maybe mail call today...

now about mail call....  i am thinking we should be doing mail call with as many dogfest people who are  around....
**********
the pig is getting  painted...
and the   purina collection is gathering in the g tenbt...-- there are some beauts there... not sure what we can do with them yet....  we do have some red carpet......  ??mark's camera???   video????    get some models togethere???
maybe by sunday  the cp's can get it organized...
*******

we had an anon person donate $25,000 thru a law firm in boston... many thanks....   i do not have a clue....  my profound thought of the day is ....  whoever you are i am sure  you are realizing you are making teh difference in  people's lives... as have all the $10 and $1 donations  which  cumulatively  ---keep us going...

In the "charity horse show"  world- there is usually  a "patron's tent" for people who donate  over some healthy ammount....
It always blew my mind...  if you believed in the charity- why do you need a patron's tent with a rope around it  to define your gift, rather than just the knowledge that your donation helped someone?

we should put up an umbrella tp define someone who got 37 more people addicted to watching sdp online.
there is a broadway show tune  about "there's saftey in numbers, is what i 've been told."
i think that has to do with boyfriends... but the concept is good.
************
closely related to that concept is
someone told me......
the fine for a speeding ticket in finland  can  be $15,000--
because the fines are based onthe income-
what a marvelous idea....!!!!
$15,000 to some people is about as painful as $15. to the rest of the world.
and  a great source of income for the police...
*****************
something is expanding our viewers--- we are getting alot of requests "to do"--- or about things-- that the normal crowd os cp's  know all about... like  ---what is mail call??  --- what is the daily doggie??---    so when you detect  a stranger in your midst .. help them out--
************
Hi Carlene,

I’ve been watching Doggie Daily for a long time. My wife loves your dogs, and of course she drags me in to watch all the births.

Carlene, I nationally self-syndicate a newspaper column about people with disabilities. You can learn more at www.danieljvance.com. I’d like to interview you for that column over the telephone, which should take no more than 25 minutes. The interview would focus on the various people your dogs have helped. I’d also like a short history on your organization. Are you interested?

If so, send me a telephone number.

My best to you.

Hi Carlene:

I am the music Director at NSUU Church, Danvers on Route 35 ...Might you be
interested in speaking at the church some Sunday about the Service Dog Project....

we’d love to have you come to do that if possible. We’re thinking of the month of January, 2016. We
have the theme of “justice” that month and we thought justice for the people you
serve with your beautiful dogs and perhaps justice for the dogs also!

in peace, Judy

SEPT 15 2015

people are here... sleeping i don't know where.... but there is a big suitcase on the porch whith no one attached....so i am not sure.

I AM SHOCKED AT HOW MANY NEW PEOPLE WE HAVE THAT DO NOT KNOW ABOUT...THE COMMENTS UNDER TEH PICTURES ON EXPLORE...  THEN THERE IS A GROUP WHO DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE CAMERAS AT ALL..--MAIL CALL IS NOT  EASILY FOUND BY STRANGERS AND HEAVEN KNOWS THIS DAILY DOGGIE  IS  READ BY ABOUT 2000 PEOPLE  BUT THERTE ARE AN AWFUL LOT THAT DON'T KNOW  IT  EXISTS.. USUALLY......
NOT THAT IT IS A TREMENDOUS LOSS TO THEM...  THERE ARE DAYS WHEN I HATE TO HAVE ANYONE READ THE SLEEPY DRIBBLE THAT THIS COMPUTER SOMETIMES PRODUCES...  WHEN EVEN THE COPY PASTE ...... FROM RECIPIENTS DOESN'T FUNCTION WELL.... EITHER.

SINCE MY NEW ROUTINE IS TO TRY AND GIVE PAM OR GRACE A BREAK  BY SITTIN G WITH TEH PUPS ABOUT 4AM TIL 7  SO STHE CAN GET SOME SLEEP , , THIS HAS CHANGED TEH TIME I HAVE TO GET ANY THOGTHS TOGETEHT FOR  THE DD..

AND RIGHT NOW PEOPLE ARE ARRIVING THAT I SHOULD BE TALKING WITH...

all these camera  people are so happy to come here and "experience" the pleasures of poo picking...it is amazing...
to that i have added rock management.... and have many tons of rock awaiting movement-- and several tons of stonedust.. to clean up  the looks of the parking area..
that is today...
and convincing all the volunteers to park in the driveway-- rumor has it we coudl have some parking problems if the flat field fills up..    and i do want to have the t tent ---to the barn clear for playtime...

and at 2 am i remembered to plug in the big golf cart which made me ... in my jammies coming in the frontdoor to an amazed pam  who thOUght i  had been sleepwalking ... or something.
having a dead golf cart  would be a disaster of emense magnitude.
especially if megan is to come for a quick visit... she is to have  no exercise... as in----NO ... NONE.... ZIP----EXERCISE---

MORE ROCKS AROUND THE SIGN,  ARTISTICALLY ORGANIZED...
ROCKS ONTO THE CARIN ON PUPPY HILL..

******
PUPS DOING FANTASTICALLY...  MAY TRY TEACHING THEM ABOUT GOATS MILK TODAY... APPARENT WE HAVE ONE.. WASHER... WHO MADE A FUNNY NOISE WHILE NURSING ... SO HE WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM GOAT LESSONS..
****
I HAD REQUESTS TO PUT IN MORE OF HUNTER WENDY ACROSS COUNTRY... AND TRIED... BUT IT IS GONE.
*****

THIS WILL BE SLIGHTLY BRIEF, BECAUSE ,,,,,  IN MY PLAN FOR THE CONTINUNITY OF SDP IN THE EVENT OF MY MENTAL OR PHYSICAL  INCAPACITIES TO RUN IT.... I HAD FIGUERED MEGAN WAS A SHOOOO IN.

NOW SHE IS PHYSICALLY DOWN... AND DOWN FOR A WHILE....  IF SHE CAN MAKE A DOGFEST  APPEARENCE IT WILL BE A VERY BRIEF ONE WITH NO WALKING.. IN A GOLF CART THEN QUICKLY BACK TO BED.

HOWEVER....TO KEEP RUNNING SMOOTHLY  I SHOULD DEFINE   WHO DOES WHAT....-- WHICH I WILL NOW DO-- ALSO ASSUMING MEGAN IS AVAILABLE LONG DISTANCE... THESE PEOPLE WOUL D HAVE TO HELP.
THINGS LIKE... PAM  IS OUR SUPER PEOPLE  ORGANIZER--- GRACE IS FARM AND ANIMAL DAILY CARE.. BUD IS OUR NOTICER ( OF WHAT NEEDS ATTENTION)  JANINE COULD SIGN THINGS THAT NEED SIGNING--WHEN YOU CAN CATCH HER.... STEVE(CHARLIE) - WITH  COLLEEN ( WHO HAS HER OWN BUSINESS TO RUN) AND KATI IF SHE IS AROUND WILL KEEP THE DOGS GOING-- WHILE THERESA , ANNE AND DONNA KEEP THE PAPERWORK  IN ORDER.....MARK IS GOOD AT BUSINESS DECISIONS...  ANNIE CAN MAKE SURE GRACE  GETS ENOUGH SLEEP.   STEVE  RUNS TEH MEAT SHACK.... SO DEVLIN AND LAURA CAN RUN EVERYTHING ELSE.

HERE IS THE LATEST FROM BELLA AND GEORGE

From Bella's Mom

Day 4. If I keep counting the days then Bella can start figuring out how many more days she has. Another flawless day at school. Today was even gym day so Bella was a little nervous again to see how he would be. But again he was wonderful. He stayed in his down stay while Bella scooted around for gym.

Bella is loving having Mrs. Kate this year. Every time I talk to her she is so kind and friendly. Which causes less stress for mama knowing that Bella likes who she spends the day with. In the next couple weeks we will try George with his saddle bag service dog vest. He has used it a few times for trips to the

store and has been fine so now that we know he is doing so good with school we can have him wear it to school and help Bella with her folders. So something to work on.

The link to order Team Bella and George shirts is http://goo.gl/forms/I17I6i7MWh. We are almost 1/2 way through the ordering!

Thanks for following our adventure and sharing our page. Love Bella and George

sept 14 2015
new routine... instead of me staying in my room early in the morn-- then writing this before 7,
i have started coming out to relieve the overnight person who has to be pretty tired by 4am..
and i can fold laundry or make monkey fists there and let them go get som sleep.  which is why
this will be later for a while.

i have one fyi to pass along from janine.. (who as professor of this kind of stuff probably has the "in" story..)  re:  the collectiom of data in odd ways... mind you i really resent the tv telling me it is an invasion of my privacy to have the gov't  know i used my easy pass to get over the  tobin bridge.--  if your privacy is all that critical, stay home... having said that.... janine told of the collection of data by stores  target etc... and one line of collection was to track the shopping inquiries which could predict an impending pregnancy-- so the store could send appropriate ads for  the first and second trimesters...-- and apparently this is done.  however one 16 year old girl apparently got on that list and began to recieve coupons for  vitamins and diapers- this really annoyed her father who took target to court for sending the stuff to his minor child...  the court  case dragged on loong enough to discover the research data was correct--- she was indeed pregnant.
it is unbelievabele what is possibel to collect--- people are collecting-
my point is-- how we must guard against  our  activities especially purchasing things we are all of a sudden convinced we must have...
**********
case in point-- why have i all of a sudden decided to look into the possible use for a wooden barrel...... they are made primarily for the whissky industry...  but for some reason    we had one when my kids were very young---  painted it red and yellow---  they played with tit constantly in the yard-- but it's primary use was, when a horse got loose, i would yell and the 3 kids... gwen janine and friend cindy.. would not question - but run for that barrell and jump in.-- like rodeo clowns--  i am not sure but that barrel is in janine;s book about dogs donkeys and circus-- i think there is a picture of  gwen and cindy standing on that barrell ready to jump down onto a seesaw and flip janine onto a horse--- if it is not in the book, it is around somewhere.

so what could i  possibly use a barrell for now???  i dunno... but if the used whiskey barrell industry is collecting  enough  data   on me to then apply whatever subconscious beads to  make me think i should buy a barrell,  we really have gone too far.
********
not unlike the tv and  polititians who tell us false info  daily what too many eventually will believe is  absolute truth..
the internet has  no editor to make sue every sttement is researched and is true before "going to press"

*********
i caused a bad problem yesterday,,,... and have to asjk all of you to stop any activity in thi s direction...  the phone calls i was getting yesterday when i was trying to nap..   being more tnhan 1/2 asleep,  i forgot the audio was on when i made remarkes to the person  on the computer  in the next room----- well please stop immediately all activity and conversation concerning that...
..and  i can handle it all by myself.. since my phone is a business line, call blocking is not simple...   please no comments etc on the explore column - or anywhere else..

I am a long time viewer/supporter/gift giver, ie anonymous on my Amazon purchases/shat upon society member and made the mistake of joining the Facebook group Camera People Great Danes Puppy Watchers during Opal's recent delivery. That, in itself, was not a mistake, but I made a post tonight and the comments/feedback was instantaneous and not so friendly so I deleted my original post. My husband & I were watching America's Funniest Home Videos tonight and enjoying many laughs when I thought of SDP, Opal climbing in the laundry basket and the prize money that this show awards. My suggestion was that someone from SDP submit the video - $10,000 prize for best video for the night's show and $100,000 for best of the season. While it was surely frightening at the time, I have chuckled every time I thought of poor Grace and Earlene trying to get the babies out of the basket before Mama squished them and then Opal's sweet face and bewildered expression when she finally got all of herself into the basket. I truly believe that you have a "winner" if you choose to pursue this and how wonderful it would be for SDP to have such a great cash prize!

I know now that it is better to be a silent supporter and truly admire your willingness to allow all of us camera people - silent & vocal - into your home every day!
***
if someone  wans to  send it in be my guest...  i did i avery funny tv show with tom berxxxxxx here in boston with my donkey... it was so funny i am sure he remembers it... however it is not something for  family programming... ( which is why it was so funny)

******
I feel the need to reiterate and emphasize the part about hair/makeup/clothes for an SDP working vacation:
1) Dress like you're going to get dirty, because you WILL have dusty/muddy/poopy paw prints all over you.
2) Make your hair tidy and fixable but not fancy, because a rambunctious pup WILL pounce you and pull it out of whatever 'do you come up with.
3) Skip makeup, lotions, etc. (except the unfortunately-necessary sunscreen), because you WILL get plenty of slobbery kisses and dogs don't need to ingest that stuff.
If you show up "properly coiffed", you certainly won't leave that way, so don't bother! No one at SDP cares what you look like if you're working -- *NO ONE*. Let your hair down (so to speak) and enjoy getting dirty for a good cause! :)
*****
wendy and hunter made a auto trip around he country and gave a leghty report.. here is the end part.
****
We had 1 day of rest before
school started when we came home. We were very excited to have the same teacher
as last year! School is going well, with the only issue being going out to
recess. Wendy has never liked that hallway and it has always been an issue.
This past Friday was the first time that we went out to recess with no issues!
Everyone was very excited and hope it continues. I am much stronger and have
better balance than I did last year, and people can see the difference. We were
told to make it look pretty and I think we are doing a good job, in our bowtie
and tutu!

Dad and Mom say that if I didn't have Wendy, there is no way we
could have done the things that we have done, especially on the trip. On top of
my strength and balance being better, my endurance is so much better and I have
better control of Wendy and reset her if something is not going right. I was
able to do all of this because of my 4 wheel doggy drive! This is all possible
because of you and everyone at SDP...Thank You!

We will be down to visit
Sunday the 20th.
Love,
Hunter & Wendy

CP SUSAN

I've been watching new puppies born at Service Dog Project and just read a wonderful description posted by a visitor about her and her daughter's working visit. Jim & I are planning to go there soon and it has gotten me thinking. The following may sound a bit sappy but it is heartfelt. Read on at your own risk
Volunteering at SDP is work....It is impossible to truly describe a working visit! There are no words to convey the sounds or feelings that are present every day. Or to know the exhausted, sell-fulfilled, emotional feelings & thought that flood over me the few minutes (if that long) after my head hits the pillow. The quiet I hear and feel in the stillness of the nights. The marvel of the fact 30-50 dogs are quiet all at one time. The energy mixed in with the tiredness and soreness when rising in the mornings. And knowing I am a small but very important part of an organization of WONDERFUL people who want nothing more than to make life better for others. It restores my faith in humankind to meet so many hard working, kind volunteers & staff members, led by a woman who thinks out side the box. Crazy Acres eludes love from all its pores and affects all ages---and just enough sadness and loss to make the wonderfulness more evident.
In the morning of the first day you get up and do you normal morning routine; fix hair, apply makeup, decide what to wear etc. If you stay a few days even die-hard hair fixer, makeup wearers soon realize that is not only a waste of time but has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with anything involved with SDP and the extra few minutes are better spent sleeping. The cameras you started out doing anything to avoid become non-existent and you try harder to do more in the hours you have there than even you knew you were capable of doing. It is a place of respite and beauty.
The lives of many within the cyber community that is SDP throughExplore.org have been and will continue to be enlightened many fold by giving enjoyment and allows even the person farthest away to be a valuable part of the mission.
There is no effort or contribution "too small" to be important. I will forever be thankful for finding and being welcome to volunteer at SDP and feel pride in knowing I have a tiny part in making the lives of 100+ recipients' easier and much more enjoyable. And I am thankful for making many new friends (personally & cyber) at this stage of my life. If anyone is interested---EVERY CENT donated to this organization goes directly for the breeding, raising & training of the service dogs and they are given at no cost to the recipient. Many recipients are Veterans with brain injuries, balance issues and PTSD.  Simple things like listing SDP when shopping on Amazon or using GOOD SEARCH can raise large amounts of money. Carlene, the owner, has said she has no millionaire supporters but can achieve results with a million "dollaraires"
The website has a list of the ways to donate.  For enjoyment go to the following sites and view everything happening including the live birth of puppies at any  time.
SERVICEDOGPROJECT.ORG and click on explore--- or ...EXPLORE.ORG and search great danes....

it is live cameras... and beats CNN for interesitng watchng.

HERE IS THE LATEST FROM BELLA AND George

From Bella's Mom:

"Another gorgeous day here in Ma! Perfect weather and lots of fun in the sun. We went to Newbury to the Ipswich Brewery fall festival. They have food, beer, animals, a bouncy house, and baseball games. It was so great being surrounded by friends old and new and our family. Bella played pretty hard

and fell asleep on the way home. That also meant George played hard. He started as a working dog with his vest on and then Bella was with a couple friends who take great care of her and Bella decided George could have a break and play with the other dogs and kids while she hung out with her pals.

George met big dogs and little dogs. But non quite as big as he is. It was a wonderful day.

We broke 200!!!!! T-shirts that is. We would really love to make it to 400 so that we can get the great pricing. Let's see if we can push for 225 by tomorrow night! Share the page, share the link on your timeline, tell your friends and family how awesome team Bella and George are! Then I think we can do it.

T-shirts start at only $10 if you live close by and can pick it up but otherwise to have one shipped to you they start at $15! Not to bad for great quality cotton shirts. Thanks in advance our friends. Here is the link.http://goo.gl/forms/I17I6i7MWh.
