 have sent my letter to anne for her to look over...and then i will pass it along with the address of the principal and superintendent in a few moments in case you feel the urge  write and give them some idea..

 

i think you should keep your comments positive and helpful 

 

  i think the basic problem is they just don't know -.... so lets deal with that first..

 i saw only one case of bullying-- which is enough-- i did grab his arm and educate him-- that is almost a separate problem from people calling to teal.

 

 but once aware, i 90% of the staff will be very helpful-- and that is our goal

 

i don't think we have to go any higher.  if the super does nothing

- then we go with green  envelopes  to  the lawyers media and state

 

BUT I DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD DO THAT NOW...  these pink envelopes are going to make the 2 people involved sit up and take notice.

 

this superintendent  Mike has responded to peter( father)  and offered to help-- slight problem - and i may be asking too much  but he offered to help at 7pm  and there  was no announcement made the next day-- which is asking alot-- but it is another day of teal trying to work and people calling his name.  bothe parents and i have asked for announcements to be made before--  

 

the wheels have been moving too slowly on this... I would like to see something in place by the first of the week..

 

the second "report "   in a couple hours will be more specific about what w saw

 

will send is specific details which could make joc' life easier

 

big observation  -- boy i would  rather train dogs than teenagers....

good news-- great progress has been made with 57 and teal..

what i had planned is to come up with megan on Thursday-- and see if we can think of anything from the dog's standpoint..

what i don't want to happen is for this superintnedent or principal to sluff it off-- he really was not helpful on the phone.

i want him to realize he is not going to toss jocelyn a crumb and think he can forget it.

instead of the "we will sue you" routine- i think if we have a bunch write him a thank you for attending to joc and teal's difficulties-

i think if he got a huge bunch of letters thanking him, the news would be positive-- and the SOB would see clearly that there are too many people behind joc annd teal for him to screw around. and a phone call from me to him would remind him to helpful.

i think it would make the next few months much easier for joc for us to be sweet and carry a big stick.

i have visions of a big pile of letters. he would not dare drop the topic

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA!!! I will be writing to him as well. It seems funny that the even the principal had a bit of time to speak w/ Peter this morning about this. so that is the plan megan is to ggo there first thing 9:15 and meet 57 -- she lives up there- and anne will drive me up for the danger zone performance about 11:00 - and lunch-

there is no point writing letters telling th eschool what the law is...they hopefully know that---

what we want them to realize is there is a virtual army of people watching out for teal and 57-- so a pile of pink colored letters ought to make it obvious- after that, a simple phone call from the parents-- or one letter in a pink envelope should jar the school department into doing what is their legal responsibility..

it all needs to happen at once--- with pink envelopes straggling in from all the international friends -- as those straggle in, the response to each of those should magnify the original pile.-make sure the return address makes that clear.

spoon and bag are ready for 3 pieces of stool from the nuppies... george wants a look

they had loose stool and have improoved without any meds -- in their case it could be simple overfeeding... but i will run with a bag to be slurried ( mashed up for one giardia test-- or whatever)

maria is here-- tracy is also-- somewhere--

the chuppies are in separate stalls and the muppies are 3 and 4 in the nutt house.

there was barking last night-- i was glad all were locked in... i am told there was a rabid fox in new hampshire last night

we have all had our rabies shots ( including me) except for the very young in the house.

but is certainly is a good time for some volunteer to run thru the records-- the kicker is...( it is not simple)

a rabies shot is good for one year... unless...

if a second shot is given between 9 to 12 months of the first, then that second shot is good for 3 years..

i thank all the people who have given me addresses of educational people -- and /or probono lawyers-- we may yet need them-- but in an effort to ease 57's daily life-- i think if we just let them know how many people are watching out for her-- the mission will be successful. and we can do that with positive pink envlopees-- then if needed.. we can call the sob and ask if she/he would like a pile of green ones to go to the press..

jocelyn and her parents are such nice people.

THERE IS NO BETTER TOPIC THAN  57 AND TEAL.- 

 

 NOW THAT EVERYONE IS PAYING ATTENTION   WE CALL HER 57  BECAUSE THAT IS HER WEIGHT--( AND TEAL IS ABOUT 3 TIMES THAT.)

 

THE SUPERINTENDENT DID CALL ME YESTERDAY-  IT WAS GOOD THAT  HE CALLED- BUT HE WAS LESS THAN ENTHUSIASTIC-- AND WHEN I TOLD HIM OF SEVERAL OF THE THINGS I HAD PERSONALLY WITNESSED HE SOUNDED VERY INDIFFERENT  ---  CAUSING ME TO WONDER IF HE IN FACT WAS AWARE OF ALL TH E LAWS (THAT WERE IN TH E LETTER   I SENT  HIM AT 1:00)

 

HE WAS VERY QUICK TO TELL ME HE COULD NOT DISCUSS IT WITH ME ( PER HIPPA)  - I REALLY WAS NOT ASKING HIM TO DIVULGE ANY INFO ABOUT 57 AND TEAL-- MY PURPOSE WAS TO TELL HIM WHAT I HAD SEEN  AND STRONGLY SUGGEST HE FOLLOW THE AVAILABLE LAWS-- WHICH HAD NOTHITNG TO DO WITH HIPPA.-- SO DISMISSING THE CONVERSATION BEHIND THAT   WAS RIDICULOUS.

 

MEGAN AND I ARE GOING UP THERE ON THURSDAY-  FOR ANOTHER LOOK SEE... I DO NOT SEE HOW I CAN GO BACK FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING  THURSDAY NIGHT-- BUT  WE HAVE SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THAT AREA  LYN DOWNING  CHAIRMAN OF OUR BOARD  IS ONE... SO WE MAY PUT THAT TOGETHER.--

 

 FROM HIS   "DO I HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS"    ATTITUDE  I THINK EVERYONE WHO  IS ANNOYED SHOULD GET READY TODAY AND BUY A PACK OF PINK ENVELOPES-AND GET PREPARED  FOR A  MASS MAILING--- TO  SEND THEM TO  VARIOUS PEOPLE INVOLVED-- INCLUDING THE MEDIA IF NECESSARY.

THER E  ARE TH E ANIMAL PEOPLE WHO ARE FURIOUS THAT TEAL IS TRYING TO  DO HIS JOB WITH SCHOOL STAFF   BOTH IGNORING STUDENT INTERFEERING- AND IN SOME CASES INTERFEEERING THEMSELVES.

AND THEN  THE ADA  RULLINGS THAT ARE QUITE CLEAR ABOUT THE RIGHTS OF 57 TO AN   EDUCATION

 

 

I STARTED OUT THINKING THAT IF WE NOTIFIED THE SUPEINTENDENT HE WOULD RESOLVE  THE MATTER VERY QUICKLY-

BUT  HE SEEMED TO HAVE THE SAME ATTITUDE OF THE PRINCIPAL-  "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR ALL THIS-   IF I  CAN WAIT IT OUT SHE WILL BE IN THE HIGHSCHOOL NEXT YEAR AND NOT MY PROBLEM."

 

HE SEEMED TO BE TRYING TO SWEEP ME UNDER THE RUG--

JUST GET THRU TALKING SO I CAN MAKE THE NEXT CALL ON MY LIST

 

SOMETHING IS WRONG..... IN MY OPINION.... AND I THINK THE TAX PAYING PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW HOW THIS KID IS BEING "HANDLED"

NOW I AM REALLY IN HIGH GEAR.

KRIS ( DAUGHTER GWEN'S KENYON FRIEND ) RESEARCHED AND WROTE A LONG LETTER FOR ME TO SEND TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS WHERE JOCELYN (AKA 57) IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH STUDENTS AND STAFF.

SHELIA ( OF WOOD CHIPPPING MEAT FAME) CALLED A FRIEND SHE KNEW INTHAT TOWN WHO JUST HAPPENED TO BE AT ROTARY CLUB WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT-- AND THEY HAD A CONVERSATION ABOUT TEAL AND 57 HE SAID "I THOUGHT THAT WAS RESOLVED"

I THOUGHT I WOULD CALL HIM AND HAVE A BRIEF CONVERSATION BEFORE WE SENT THE LETTER FULL OF LAWS OF WHICH I AM SURE HE KNOWS.

HE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND WOULD CALL ME LATER IN THE AFTERNOON.

HE DID NOT-- THAT IS A RED FLAG IN FRONT OF A BULL

REMEMBER----- THE PRINCIPAL OF THE SCHOOL WAS TOO BUSY TO TALK TO THE PARENTS, MEGAN AND I-- NOW HIM???

I WILL GIVE HIM TIL 10 THIS MORNING TO CALL ME-- THEN TO BE VERY CONSERVATIVE--- I WILL SEND HIM A VERY SHORT EMAIL- AND IF I DO NOT HEAR BACK BEFORE NOON... I QUIT THE CONSERVATIE ROAD. NEXT IS THE STATE SCHOOL BOARD.

I HAVE A FUNNY ALLIGATOR CLIP THING ON MY DESK INTENDED TO HOLD 2 WIRES YOU ARE ABOUT TO SOLDER.  EXCEPT I HOLD IMPORTANT MESSAGES "ABOVE TH E FRAY " OF MY DESK SURFACE.-

 

 LAST NIGHT SHE PULLED IT DOWN TO TEAR UP THE IMPORTANT PAPERS I HAD CLIPPED  TO IT. AND....----.THE CRITICAL PART-----.. JOCELYN AND TEAL WERE HERE YESTERDAY-- HE IS DOING WONDERFULLY-- SHE CAN-- AND DID-- GO TO WALMART BY HERSELF - WITH TEAL-  NO PROBLEMS- BUT HE IS A PROBLEM IN SCHOOL-- HE IS TELLING HER NOT TO GO IN THA PLACE WHERE HE GETS TEASED AND TORMENTED..

 

 MEGAN TOOK THEM TO THE LOCAL MADHOUSE OF A WATERPARK- SCREAMING KIDS ETC-- AND HE WAS FINE.   BUT HE STOPS DEAD ON APPROACHING HER SCHOOL... AND I CAN'T BLAME HIM- HE GETS TORMENTED BY GUYS  GRABBING HIS TAIL AND POKING AT HIM- EVEN THE STAFF HAS BEEN KNOWN TO  CALL HIS NAME AND GRAB  AT HIM. 

 

I HAVE NOTIFIED TH E SUPERINTENDENT LAST NOVEMBER   - WHO REFERRED IT TO THESPECIAL ED PERSON WHO SAID SHE CAN NOT CONTROL THE CHILDREN.

 

MY QUESTION IS. ---- WHY NOT ANNOUNCE THAT   IF ANYONE IS SEEN TO .INTERFEERE  WITH TEAL IN ANY MANNER THEY WILL SIMPLY BE EXPELLED.

THAT HAS NOT   HAPPENED

 

GOT TO AHND IT TO JOCELYN- SHE HANGS IN THERE.-- BUT SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO.. .. I AM NOT SUGGESTING ALL OF YOU SEND MAIL ... YET...  BUT THAT MAY HAPPEN-- AND IF IT DOES.. WE SHOULD ALL DO IT THE SAME DAY.  WITH THE SAME COLORED ENVELOPES...  SO HOLD ON FOR A BIT.

heave onward..  with great purpose.

i will learn the new explore system

i will... i will..

 

especially if that 8 year old kid comes here today to explain it to me.

 

the problem with being old,... well one of them... if i have lost whatever short term memory i  had....

so faced with a new system i do what i think is logically correct---

when that does not work, i sit back and think what i would logically do

and i try that

unfortunately it is very often the thing i already tried-- but having no memory i keep doing the same thing over and over.

 

i can not imaging how this is the slightest bit  interesting.. except for those trying the same thing..

 

i try a new  sign in name and password.. then i do something wrong which causes me to have to start again.. so i enter my name and password and i get "sorry that name is taken"   which is me--  and the program  is  not set up to deal with that situation-- therefore that entire system is now out of my realm of possibility.

 

but i will try again today.

 

i was very hopeful-- courtney sent me a bulletted list of   one liners-- and i

hopefully printed it out  the 4 pages thinking those were instructions.

. no-- THA WAS ACTUALLY AN INDEX OF topics to click on and each one is a 6 page tirade.

jim the beef guy came in and we discussed the on coming warm weather when our current system of coolers and freezers will not work

 

it boils down to setting up a system of grinding beef on Sunday morning..  last week we had a great team -- jack and  ?? steve??   it took them less than 2 hours to do 20 boxes.. - we need to perfect that team and see if we can get them weekly.

jim can deliver it semi thawed too..  so it gets to be a science of freezers, coolers, moving blankets and ambient tempature,.

for those coming today for Sunday stew-- we will be in the t-tent  today  - which is surrounded by a moat of muddy water  -- so hip boots are recommended.

i now understand what  "going viral" means

 

with george-- it is the  problem around here of loose stool ( bet you all didn't expect that)

and--- in keeping with our  "reality show " ---- you are going to get the details-----george's  current suggestion of meds does seem to be working--but  every day a new dog gets added to the list..  rather than doing a stool sample on each.. he suggested a slurry of poo---  so laura just went down with a plastic spoon and bag-- to make a collection before cleanup started..

 

i am soooo excited to report that the sample has some bulk to it... instead of the projectioe poos that are less than flat..  so there...

somehow my wording went astray when i said we would be sorting out the 28 pups and seeing who might be  a fabulous failure-- that does not mean all 28 ( i certainly hope)  but i expect 1 or 2 will have something i can not put out as a service dog.  usually structural--

all  danes have some weird personality quirks--  the recipients just have to learn to live with those.

and the fabulous failures should still be "used" to entertain and educate  people in rehab hospitals or senior homes  etc.. as therapy dogs.

there are a few of you who mix service and therapy dogs.

service dogs are considered a piece of medical equipment and can go anywhere you can take a cane.  public access  --( their behaviro must be perfect or they can be thrown out of anywhere too,)  behaving correctly they go on planes in restaurants - everywhere-  by law.  and that law pertains to a professional  training one of them..-that is us.....

 

therapy dogs are well behaved pets who go by invitation to visit people in hospitals  nursing homes etc.  you do not waltz into a restaurant with a therapy dog.

 

there have been people who have bought vests on line and pretended to be service dogs.  last i knew there was an $11,000 fine to someone who tried that.-  

 public access was a long hard battle fought by the seeing eye - and deserves the utmost of respect.

the only other exciting thing today-- so far-- is i cleaned up a spot off the floor in my ( only ) room-

doesn't sound like much- but for the first time in my life there was only one spot.

 we are pretty well plowed-- knowing the weather was to warm up -- i just scratched some bare ground here and there with hopes the warmer weather will do the rest.. to enable  parking places...

there was a lot of snow  i would say 15 inches except  inches if snow is not really a fascinating topic...unlike  the consistancy of doggie doooo.

in the guest house.... 

gwen's friend from kenyon   chirs

maria so she didn't have to drive so early sat morn

 

 upstairs was adam

who's mother will join us tonight - with stanley her serv dog

 

and colleen2 was the puppy sitter.

 

i slept.

everybody is ready to celebrate the proposed 50 degree temp tomorrow...

which will mean cleaning up the t-tent - maybe even n iron pot of stew on the fire...-- which started the thing.

t- tent has become another overflow area...
