 Pasta knows that sharp sound of “A” as being “stop doing whatever you are doing and look at me.” He grew another 4 inches yesterday... actually.. he is a little thin,

 

Along with the worry about getting rid of trash...... that hay truck from Canada was overdue yesterday and we only got his last 6 bales--- it must have landed by now... I need to try for 2 loads today...

So that is my excitement for the day.....

 i have caused my hair to be shorter, by employing  sharp scissors thus saving $50 so if it has that   carefree "windblown look-- just  think ?$50????  i do not like to see old ladies with flat hair----and i see plenty of that in the places we go. to-- (forgive me ann...."to which we go"--- darn english major) 

yesterdays hay run... we only got 30 bales oif second cut-- ( duly noted on the welcome message of the hay bales "board". )       which was not terribly attractive hay---to tide us over -- we were both out.. with some 20 animals        to feed-- he said a load of first cut should be in about 11 am today..   close timing because the truck is coming from Canada.....

and that fits !!  we are due at the newbury port senior drop in center at 10::00-- perfect timing... now to check the weather..... weather early afternoon partly cloudy..  rain later...  .. talk about close calls. which reminds me.  to order tarps.... FOR THE DONKEY CAFE AND POND VIEWING....

so much to do and letters to write... you all must forgive me when i run  out of gas...

which reminds- me-- i need gas-- i just wrote to one of our donors who offered to support the visitng project----  i am not a charity yet.... but my expenses are only. $66 a week in gas money. i can cover that with my SSA------- of course then  there is the $6 bail  money fund too !!!

 i might need help there !!!!!

wanting to get free of the  chaos of crazy acres, i accepted an invite from a 76 year old recipient in tennassee... fully expecting to be sipping tea in  the shade of the trees before nap time....... what i did not expect was to be fending off more drinks, while singing broadway songs at a piano bar. slipping treats to her service dog under the piano at 11PM.  .  i , with my walker , and she with her dog, we settled right in at the piano bar..... With her skarf around my neck to "get dressed up" we went to nashville's  rendition of a senior drop in center.. circled by classmates and other old friends, drinks kept coming--- fortunately  as a drinker of  "non" drinks , i became the designated driver as i wondered how i would find my way home if there was no button on the car to push that said  "go home" and how would i explain to the police we were just sleeping in the car  with a dog....until we found the way home/-- i have not had that kind of problem since college days....

point being--- she  was out --- having a grand time. She absolutely could not walk without that dog --- minus the dog she would have either a wheelchair or 2 crutches to get in and out of the car... and i guarantee  the cafe would have been nice to her.... officially nice... but with that dog, she was a celebrity- or rather, the dog was, as the first thing the waitress did was to bring a bowl of water and crawl  hands and knees under the piano to give it to the dog.    I sat thinking.....what a 1000% difference one dog has made in this person's life. and we have put out over 200 before i retired.  More people should train danes for this work... they are super at it.

 

 The constant drag of "mobility equipment" like a chair prevents many people from getting out in the first place... It is not just the cumbersome drag of equipment...... but if you  ever have been in a wheelchair, the slow meandering progress of someone else pushing you can drive you nutty.  Now because of that... and because many of our people who can walk with a dog , often land in a chair temporarily . I tried to have every “walker dog” know how to pull a wheelchair. To that end, I was in Costco one day—in a chair—with a dog learning to pull a little faster--- which got to be kinda fun—until management came over.  I bet I am the only person ever to be thrown out of Costco --- for speeding.

old people do not do well with change. 

yup. neither do young people and infants--AOL warned me that june  first they would change something... and they sure did -- so this daily doggie i write is now DIFFERENT-- and driving me nuts-- plus it no longer takes dictation....

but we have also changed  the camera- which thankfully i do not have to understand at all--

and the worst....... janine decided since the new camera  is so "crisp and clear". that she better clean off my desk-- and area around "so it looks nice"

in the process she "encouraged me" to fill 4 trash cans of what she called "crap" and proceeded to sweep the floor... ok... so it needed doing.. but it is a forerunner of things to come. i have got to narrow down my living space to fit in the one room laundry building.. DIFFERENT--  concept- i am looking forward to getting going-

i need help from all you camera people----  when i built the ICU building--- one of you  knew someone who knew someone in penna? who produced the epoxy flooring-- and then knew someone ? from rhode island? who did a great job-- i think staying here over a weekend ? a couple people---nice job-reasonable price.SO HOW DO I FIND THEM AGAIN?????    I HOPE SOMEONE REMEMBERS..i think i paid them cash-- so that i's out....

TO EVEN START THE PROCESS I NEED TO MOVE THINGS OUT OF THE WAY  i had planned on using the meat cutting shack ( built by me in about a day??)- the problem there is   everyone has filled it entirely to the doorstep.. i cannot set one foot in the place.... you think i am kidding???  i have a photo...  i know i have things in there-- you can see a very nice door... but i can not even get to it.

 cleaning my desk area resulted in  my "stuff" , OP ( other people) ,hardware, useless, and down the driveway.. it is amazing what people will take-- and in my case it has often involved having someone bring a tractor to load some heavy object i landed out there... like. a brand new bath tub i brought home from judy's for a photo op.

so the fvery first is to take a table down the drive and boldly label it DO NOT TAKE THE TABLE.

here we go....

ok. that is the door frame  maybe one foot could sit in that spot.

moving along one project at a time.....

Just to keep the nonsense factor flowing.......  Progress report

The basic concept is to get carlene on  a horse again... preferably A NICE HORSE.. which might have to be a mule—namely “betty white” a nice rescued mule--- and the only place to uplift is the beautiful adult swing set built by engineer Chip. Which would involve a pulley system. Rather than hoist carlene first, because of her advanced age—it was decided to have a practice go round with Elizabeth- a younger version of carlene... note this decision was not made by Elizabeth .....all I have to do is put the  concept together—this is the kind of thing I did with animals for 30 years--- how to get the photo???? 

 

With visions of polished wooden pulleys I went to harbor freight—they had only clothesline pulleys- and then I remembered the “come-along”—a really strong cable system... we do own at least one- but it has a few kinks in the cable.. like everything around here—so for $24 I bought a new one. Which would work but  the ratchet would be cumbersome- so I will look further... I have a feeling a sailing community  like Newburyport... might have “prettier” pulleys they make lamps out of.... that would  still be  functional.

 

And I have to go. To Newburyport today TWICE EVEN !! !!------we need hay which is just north of newburypt- and we have a special request of dogs at the avita rehab center at 1:30   by the newbypt hospital – further complicated by  torrential downpours predicted for this afternoon....

So it is a quick round trip this morning for hay to then cover if it does not get unloaded.....  go back with the dogs --- and a second person .. hopefully---

NOW FOR THE REAL; PROBLEM.... the hay trailer was last seen full of  trash  trying to find a dump north of Boston somewhere--- and the smaller trailer also used for hay is still full of our trash because Georgetown  transfer station  is closed because ??? Maine??? Is closed----- are you all noticing... trash is a biiiiiggggggg thing./. there is no more “ away” to throw things.

 

Now as far as the rumor mill--- I was the one to start SDP---pretty much because of the great Dane rescue given to me by the danvers animal control... in the process—there were animals donated to me- for which I had no room or could not handle- and  I was told there was a new Hampshire Great Dane rescue who would take them.   I called on the nh rescue- maybe 2 or 3 times to come get a dog and find it a home.

... and they did-  I do not see how anyone could. Claim  for that to be the start of SDP...  it was one small drop in the bucket-  coping with too many dogs is a constant problem even now.

 

Second  rumor—a complicated rumor of the pups getting sick with  diarrhea  because of goats feet , giardia, goats milk and  sand – the only part worth mentioning is that --- I have a theory -----that pups--- and maybe some people.... outgrow the ability to digest milk at about 3 or 4 weeks old consequently between that and the round worms which they all get--- diarrhea is a constant factor  in puppy raising.... take a pill and  get over it.

 i am happy to report-----some things around here are going very smoothly-- we have some camera people coming in this weekend to "participate" in whatever is happening.... i like to have cp's come visit---it keeps us focused better-  my mission -- so long ago  --- was to  use this place to make life easier for anyone whos life could be made easier or more enjoyable by my simple strong points.... i,e,---- trailer backing . dog training, monkey fist making, and 11.65 acres.

as of the moment... trailer backing got squelched yesterday because the dump is full (until they get a few more loads off to the state of Maine) -----i carry a tote bag of  monkey fist making materials, but that is  on slight hold because they took away my scissors going thru the airport------i have an "emergency  call" to bring 2 or 3 of my dogs to an adult care center  on Friday-- which if i have to go alone i will take just larkey and pasta-- judy is on holiday in calif.... and  4 dogs would be too much especially with one of them 20 week old pasta-- who would be  darn good once i got him in the correct door....) soooo what i am needing  at the moment is someone to go with me on Friday about 12:30 to ?3:30?----- as for the 11.65 acres?   it is in process.........it could do a better job if just left alone to carefully develope  logically.  it ustabee freedom and fresh air for both people and puppies.

As for the edict  that i restrict what i say or write?--- to quote exactly. " Carlene White must immediately stop using the SDP name" -- that is just too hard for me  to remember after  20 years- so go ahead and j ail me---

 i 've been there before -- and i had to ask a friend for $6 bail money then-- hopefully there are enough of you now to come up with whatever $6.00 fees required to get me back in my home.

For those of you unfamiliar with my jail episode--- i was inadvertently  not in compliance with a court order i never got- and was picked up- from my home---( here is the critical part) after a legnthy cocktail hour--- taken to ipswich -- finger printed and mug shot- they had to quickly hire a woman to be with me-- and i found out she was not making the minimum wage.. that's when they decided $20 bail-- and i had only $14-- so at 11 pm the cruiser took me to ann;s house where she came up with the $6.00.... in coins..and they took me home again.

like the ransom of red chief-- they were happy to get rid of me.

but i did enjoy the ride !!
