JULY 14 2016
PERFECT TIMING....WE ARE COMING DOWN THE HOMESTRETCH  WITH THE WET FOOD FROM PURINA.. IT IS USUALLY SHIPPED BEFORE THE 15TH... AND  WHAT A BLESSING THAT IS...MAKES ME REALIZE HOW AWFUL IT WOULD BE TO  HAVE TO GO  BUY A PALLET OF FOOD !!!- ALSO MAKES ME REALIZE , I HOPE WE ARE DOING ALL WE CAN FOR  THEM--
BEFORE THEY DONATED OUR FOOD... I WAS BUYING PURINA... SO I AM NOT JUST BEING NICE SO THEY WILL SEND ME FOOD.. THO THE TEMPTATION WOULD BE GREAT....

WAY BACK... I REMEMBER.......DOG FOOD IS A LIKE A RELIGION TO ALOT OF PEOPLE-- NOT ME...... IN MY OPINION,   THEY ARE SO INFLUNCED BY SOME ADVERTISING AND DESPARATE TO "DO THE RIGHT THING" FOR THEIR PETS- THEY RELINQUISH ANY NORMAL THOUGHT PROCESS  AND SEIZE ON  THE MENTAL TRAINING DONE BY AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN... THE MOST PEQUILIAR.... IN MY LIFETIME.... I HAVE KNOW ONE KENNEL THAT SWORE THAT FEEDING A SPECIAL FOOD OF GROUND UP, DRIED, FOUL SMELLING FISH, WOULD PREVENT HIP DYSPLASIA. AND PEOPLE WHO FED IT,  WOULD ARGUE..(.THEY ALSO SOLD IT.) . AND WOULD SHIP IT TO CALIFORNIA  -- SMELLY 50 POUND BAGS---
I HOPE.. BUT I AM NEVER TOO SURE... THAT ANY INTENSE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN -- DOG FOOD OR POLITICAL---- PUTS ME INTO REVERSE AND  INTO "QUESTION MODE"

IN THE CASE OF DOG FOOD, WITH THE HELP OF A CP,   WE TYPED IN 74 DIFFERENT  INGREDIENTS  ON
A HUGE SPREAD SHEET - ADN LABELED THE  FIRST 10 INGREDIENTS OF 25 DIFFERENT DOG FOODS...
I AM ATTACHING IT-- WITH  HOPES YOU CAN DOWNLOAD  ( AND PROOFREAD/ CHECK IT OVER....?)
SDP 'S HISTORY OF FOOD,  SOMETIMES  WHEN THE GOING GOT ROUGH FINANCIALLY,  I BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST PURINA  I COULD FIND-- SUPERMARKET PRUINA'S DOG CHOW-.. OR COSTCO'S KIRKLAND- ---- FOR A SHORT SPELL, WE
FED CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE DOG LOVERS SOUL BECAUSE THEY GAVE US A GOOD DEAL, AND I LIKED,  BUT WHEN I HAD TO GO BUY FOOD, , BUT  VALUE FOR THE DOLLAR,  I  HONESTLY BOUGHT PURINA.....30+  YEARS...  FOR A COUPLE REASONS.

I THINK--- ( NOTE THAT  "THINK"   CAREFULLY -- I COULD BE ALL WET......BUT..)--- AN AWFUL LOT OF THE DOG FOOD- EXCEPT PURINA -- IS PROCESSED BY A COMPANY CALLED DIAMOND MFG.-- THEN THERE WAS THE HUGE RECALL DUE TO A PIECE OF DUCT TAPE CARRYING SALMONELLA IN THEIR PROCESSING PLANT SOMEWHERE...  COSTCO'S KIRKLAND WAS INVOLVED--- AND I WAS WATCHING THE LABELS ON  SEVERAL BAGS-- IT LOOKED TO ME LIKE DIAMOND JUST CHANGED THE WAY TEHY LABELED TEH BAGS, BECAUSE THEIR  MARKET WAS SO HUGE,  FINDING ANOTHER COMPANY TO TAKE OVER COUD NOT HAPPEN IN A FEW WEEKS.   PERSONALLY........ I THINK THEY PULLED OFF THE DUCT TAPE, CLEANED THE MACHINERY AND BASHED ON .. UNDER A NEW NAME. A ND NEW ADVERTISING...

MY OTHER CONVICTION ON DOG FOOD, IS THAT  PURINA IS A HUGE COMPANY-- AND IF A BETTER FOOD COULD BE MADE, THEY WOULD SIMPLY  MAKE IT--- 100% SLICED SIRLOIN OR SOME SUCH....AND CHARGE  A HUGE PRICE FOR IT.... -PRO PLAN IS A GREAT FOOD--- OUR DOGS LOOK GREAT ( AND THEIR BOWELS ARE FINE  AS LONG AS TEHY DON'T INGEST ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS...)
NOW IF I COULD ONLY CONVINCE OUR VOLUNTEERS TO FEED SLIGHTLY LESS OF IT- BECAUSE SOME OF OUR OLD LADIES ARE GETTING A BIT ROUND... CHAOS  SPECIFICALLY...'
***
THIS IS HARDLY A SCIENTIFIC STATEMENT ---  BUT I MUST...  ALOT OF DOG FOODS CONTAIN CORN.. AND PEOPLE RAVE  THAT IT IS NOT GOOD FOR DOGS... WELL...... IN MY EXPERIENCE LONG AGO   BEFORE SDP  AND FENCING...- WE LOST  SEVERAL CHICKENS TO  A DOG ( ACTUALLY A PIT BULL JANINE BROUGHT HOME....) AND TEH 3 CHICKENS SHE CAUGHT SHE WAS VERY CAREFUL TO EAT THE INSIDES FIRST..WHICH WERE FULL OF THE CORN  THE CHICKEN ATE-- THEN THE DARK MEAT THEN THE WHITE...
------PLUS  YOU PUT DOWN A SCOOP OF HORSE "SWEET FEED"  AND ALL THE DOGS WILL HAPPILY EAT IT.
*********
HOW DID I GET GOING ON ALL THIS.
WELL  ??? EDUCATIONAL

I HOPE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD TEH  FOOD CHART..  IT IS INTERESTING... AND DO CHECK IT FOR FACT WITH WHATEVER YOU FEED????

deligate---- is the marching song....
Greetings to Carlene and her wonderful supporters....
Debra and Sandra have approached us with a request for a donation of a replacement cover for the tipi that Carlene initially purchased from us.  While we usually reserve all our second hand tipis for Native Americans in need, we are happy to offer you a used 20ft tipi cover that molded prematurely. The cover is in great shape, but it needs to be cleaned and re-treated. Please let us know if you are interested.
Cleaning can be done with a solution of 50% Chlorox "My Ultimate Care" Bleach and 50% water. 2 gallons would work and cleaning is best done with the cover spread on the ground, then wet the cover and apply the solution with a big broom, the mold should disappear within 6-10 min.  Afterwards, please hose it off with water. To prevent mold to appear again, you will need to treat the canvas with a mold inhibitor such as 303 Fabric Guard or "No More Mildew" from National Allergy (www.natlallergy.com).
If you would like us to send the tipi to you, please provide us with your shipping address.
Thank you very much,
With kind regards,
Nicole

sounds like we have a tipi coming thanks to the efforts of  deb and sandra... and nicole

chickens....took up alot of the day yesterday..  long educational story...
rule #7658c--- from the USDA  day old baby chicks must be shipped  at least 25 to a box (  i assume...to stay warm) and i have dealt with strombergs  for years... perfectly--
many years of getting  newborn chicks for a photo shoot--- strombergs as never failed when the  million dollar cameras were lined up to take a picture of   "newly hatched"  when they meant just that ... because 4 day old chicks have new feathers that show up on cameras...---  and generlly chickens  in the big hattcheries are hatched on monday, sexed and shipped on tuesday,   overnight USPO  for delivery wed- thursday.  because by late thursday and early friday those tiny feather would ruin "the  photo shoot"
i ordered chicks  25 of 5 different kinds of egg laying  type and 20 guinnea fowl ( they are bigger and can be shipped 20 to a box.) .... in march.  well i can't remember the details but hatcheries were not behaving normally and they could not fill orders for one or two of the tyope i had on my list...so shipment got delayed- and they - twice gaeve me a new date...
finally -- chicks arrived at th e post off ice in ipswich last week-  bigger box than normal-- looked strange--chicks only in  ½ the box... and there were only 15 of them..5+. 10 looked alike -- strange... i  expected  5+5+5+5+5 all girl chickens....
i got busy for a  few days and forgot--- til a camera person called to say she had seen on facebook that 12 guinea keets were  unclaimed at the regional post office so they had been sent to the animal rescue barn about 20 miles away.  several daily doggie readers  of facebook realized they weere probably mine.... i called--- with difficulty--and tried to claim them...i said i would take them   except
well.. having been left t the spca farm, theny now had to keep them for 4 months so they could then be tested for whatever they test chickens for....?poulrum??-- the 15 chicks we have are doing well... but i paid $249 for the total order... and i called strombergs--- a verynice woman said tehy would send 20 keets immediately to replace.... and someone would get back to me on the  missing 10 regular chicks. i have not yet heard,,,,but..... if by law they must\ ship 25 chicks to a box-- they apparently will send my missing 10  -- now if they fill the box with another 15 cheaper  boy chickens i will be in massive trouble-- because  from day 2 to day180  teh boys and girl chickens look alike ...
i think strombergs has a personell problem...
****
how do you explain this stuff to these business types that keep telling me i should have a 5 year plan.??   i can't even keep next week on schedule.
******
i remember ....
long ago... the million dollar rooster project.... i had to  get a rooster for a movie to be filmed in harvard square.. actor had to carry a rooster  in a crate in teh square.-- the director wanted his choice of 5 different breeds of roosters...  and he wanted 3 of each kind just in case...-- anyone counting ?/ 15 roosters-- i don't think there are 15 roosters in new england... so strombers shipped expensively  15 individal roosters-- and because teh call time was 6am... that made me crossing the bridge at 5am with 15 roosters crowing away in my car...in individual cratees ( roosters often fight) ..now--- because the teemsters were being difficult, they were only filming the exterior stuff in boston... the rest to be done in toronto-- areyou ready???? shipping poultry internationally is a federal project- they needed to be tested for xxxxxxx so  i needed passports for 3 roosters to go to toronto.
we got the shot--- and i left the 3 roosters with the wardrobe deptartment packed with food ready to go withther passo[ports... fine... and i started home with 12 crated roosters -- i needed them like a hole in the head !!  so i decided- i have seen antique pictures of roosters in horse barns.. so as i came home , i quietly  let one rooster loose at every stable i knew  of and wished them well..   i saw many of those roosters  as they lived years with the stable owners not knowing how they were so lucky to have one....

summer is a comming in
and people forget to buy a brick....and i begin to panic...  one of the most critical things you all can do for sdp is to  get one more person  interested in our  explore -dog bless you --cameras and have them buy one brick--- it happens every month- but in summer it is worse.. we are almost ½ thru the month with 10%  bricks sold... aaaaaauuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhh     and i still meet people who don't know that we are dependent on those $10 bricks --- please   share the word.. hold their hands til they  can buy a brick thmeselves... as long as it is not a burden---  some people don't have  the $$-- i know about those things-- so keep cutting  our poo pickers  and get someone else to buy a brick... we are 100% dependent on the whole camera crowd... the $100,000 grant from cummings is wonderful, but do the math---it does not even cover the payroll... and i can not run this place myself ( as i once did).
*****
continuing. my police bit....  i had many responses... both extremes
A.----The average yearly salary for Police Department in Boxford, Massachusetts is $82,814.
***
B.----My husband retired from our town's police department.  When our two children were young and I stayed at home to raise them, we qualified for food stamps.  That's what little pay he received.  To be eligible for "low income" help from the state on medical care, food, etc. all while working full time for the city.  We chose not to take advantage of those programs.  It wasn't pride.  It's because we chose for me not to work away from home thinking raising my children 24/7 to be more important than money.  We didn't go hungry either.  We sacrificed in other areas.  My husband did body work in our garage to supplement his pay.  We don't regret any of it.
*****
C.---paul ryan... political guy-- was interviewed last night on cnn..-- sorry-- but i have to put him in the out to lunch bunch as he went on about how he hesitated taking the job because he wanted to spent  weekends with his family-- and how important teh family unit was to the american way of life...  he very casually said he spends 4 days a week working for teh political job....
isn't that wonderfull--
HANDS UP--- how many of the real people  in the country can have a 4 day work week with all possible benefits----he went on and on about how his laws would solve the poverty crisis when i don't think he has a clue about any parent  working 2 or  3 jobs--just to keep the roof over their heads and food on the table... i know many people  who can not take the time out to be retrained for anything.. as teh e word "homeless " hangs over their head.

instead of a summer vacation,   just give me paul and his family to live on what he could make in the real world -  he needs a real education... he could learn that a tipi would be  a luxury.

july 12 2016
the news...  the police are under attack...
well -----they are also under paid-- big time--- if what i hear is true..
that  impressive police chief from dallas  said they are paid $40,000 a year to get shot at...
 bud-- tells me
THE SALARY RANGE  FOR WEATHERMEN  IN BOSTON AREA IS   101K TO 174K
DEPENDING ON # OF YEARS AT SAME STATION
NOT BAD FOR READING FROM A SCRIPT ,  OH AND SMILING
and the poor police get 40k?????

there is another  part of police salariy that i have been trained to believe... (before i heard teh $40 k number...)
is "police  DO ALL RIGHT---they pad their salaries with extensive overtime...."
from construction outfits that  are required to have police detail to dig up the road..."
i have heard that ...f o r e v e r.... implying what a rip off  it was...
wellllll.....now with a few more details - i see that as a way for a town... like ipswich... to not pay a reasomable salary and letting teh little guy trying to dig a hole  foot the bill.

i kind of knew that--except  now i heard ( on  dallas tv so it must be true) in an effort to earn a living wage for his family, the  guys were inclined to pull over and arrest someone at the end of their shift so that  "processing the person" properly would force them into  2 hours overtime.  that story strikes me as true.. one of those hard to make up situations....

i would love to know the  topics  of one week's worth of police calls-- how many are basically something which should be handled by some other agency... like   mental illness or , drug addiction.
i know--- i have called the police a few times in 30 years-- and been delighted to have some big strong person arrive to help with sometimes very pequiliar situations...

tho i think we should continue with the cakes at the fire departments, because those guys are sitting around with not much to do, i think i will order some bulk boxes of lifesavers  to leave at police station so they could grab a pack as the come and go from the statieon...
maybe hand one to the guys standing  in the sun direction  traffic around a hole in the ground.
*************
my concrete quest goes on...  THE OMNI GUY-- never called me back with the estimate... so that is now holding up the building permit. i have a second one to investigate today==  you camera people are wonderful  giving me  information...!!!!
***
i was very impressed last night at mail call-- we have 4 people here from pittsburg penna.-- and i could  remember the song about pittsburgh penna with only those 2 words.......-- and i bragged about our "system'  by saying  to the microphone.." i bet these camera people will give me the rest of teh lyrics very shortly"  .. i think within 3 minutes we had teh lyrics and a recording of " there's a pawn shop on a corner  in pittsburgh pennsylvania , and i ain't got a thing left to hock." .
we are an amazing group with  much incidental intelligence.

Hi Carlene
For the past few months I have been working on Emmetts crowd skills. We had been observing from the safety off my car and gradually exposing him of being in them (crowds). Today we were all over the crowded Plymouth water front. We visited several busy restaurants, crowded gift stores and ice cream stands. We also conquered several types of terrain as well as lots of stairs. For the most part people stared in amazement. I am real good now of tuning everyone out to focus my attention on Emmett,  he continues to amaze me.

Dear Carlene,
I can't believe I am sending you this only 3 weeks after my email about Tips. We had to say goodbye to my wonderful, handsome, boy Crane on Monday. We gave him the good life he so richly deserved, but saying goodbye is heartbreaking.

In the world of dogs, we all believe that our dog is wonderful and special, and we all are correct. Crane truly was a legend in his own time, and I am grateful that you gave me the opportunity to grow and learn and laugh with him. His memory will be forever in my heart.

Thank you,
Maureen Beattie-Waterworth

JULY 11 2016

BIG WEEK AHEAD..

LIVELY BUNCH ARRIVED LAST NIGHT FOR THE GUEST HOUSE--  4 OF THEM VERY HAPPY TO GET OUT OF THE CAR... AT NEARLY 7PM  SO I LEFT THEM LOOKING FOR  FOOD AND  I WENT TO BED.. B EING NEW THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE WONDERS OF THE REFRIG IN THE HOUSE WITH LEFT OVERS FROM SUNDAY STEW... WHICH INCLUDED SOME OF JUDY'S CREATIONS ... LIKE EGGPLANT PARM...AND LEFT OVER GRACE COSTOCO CAKE...  THEY WILL LEARN.  THEY SHOULD  BE FUN...LIVELY IS RHE KEY WORD...
NOW ADD THE REST OF THE WEEK.........
GOP CONVENTION   WHICH COULD GET LIVELY...18
ARRIVAL OF CAMERA GUY FROM EXPLORE.19 ( AND CAKE DAY)
THURSDAY  PROMISING SOUNDING CANDIDATE FOR ADI...
.... AND.... THE BUILDING

SEVERAL CP'S HAVE OFFERED SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE INSULATION OF A CONCRETE BLOCK BUILDING... I MUST ADMIT WHEN I LOOK AT THE 4" WIDE CONCRETE BLOCK AND THINK 8 FEET TALL WALLS, I WORRY-- EVEN WHEN THEY TALK OF "TYING WITH TABS" TO THE NORMAL WOOD FRAME, IT JUST DOESN'T QUACK LIKE A DUCK... THESE OMNI BLOCKS ARE NORMAL SHAPE BUT THE INSIDE IS REDESIGNED TO SHOVE IN STYROPHONE TYPE STUFF..

ALL THIS REMINDS ME OF MY FATHER---  NOT BEING BURDENED WITH  A FORMAL EDUCATION , HE THOUGHT UP THINGS HIMSELF ..  THE ONLY OFFICIAL PATENT HE GOT-- AT GREAT EXPENSE, ---WAS FOR THE LOADING RAMP YOU SEE ON 99% OF THE TRAILERS HAULING TRACTORS BEHIND TRUCKS... IF I ONLY HAD A HALF A PENNY FOR EACH  WE WOUOLD  NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT THE COST OF OMNIBLOCKS FOR THE BUILDING...  HIS "PATENT ATTORNEY" DID NOT INCLUDE THE HINGE IN THE OPATENT-- SO A BIG COMPANY CHANGED THE HINGE AND BROKE THE PATTENT -- BUT HE HAD A GOOD TIME CREEATING IT.--  THERE WERE AT LEQST 2 MONUMENTAL OTHERS.... THE CIRCULAR BLADE UNDERNEATH A ROAD GRADER WAS HIS-- AND  THE EXCAVATOR USED THIS MONTH WHICH PUT IN OUR NEW PARKING LOT   --- HAD  RUBBER ?BLOCKS?  BOLTED TO THE METAL TRACK-- WHICH STARTED AS A BUNCH OF CUT UP RUBBER TRUCK TIRES IN THE BASEMENT OF OUR HOUSE IN NEWBURGH.. SO THE ONION FARMERS COUDL CROSS THE ROAD WITHOUT CUTTING UP THE HARD TOP WITH  THE "CRAWLER  TRACTORS ....WHICH HE SOLD....

THEN  2 HOUSES ARRIVED TO BE BUILT BEHIND US--  HE WAS FASCINATED--- TO START WITH THE 4 BIG TRAILERS  WERE TO HAVE A RIGHT SIDE AND A LEFT SIDE TO BE PLUNKED DOWN ON FOUNDATIONS... BUT THEY SENT 3 RIGHT SIDES AND ONE LEFT  - AND GOING ALL THE WAY FROM PENNA, NO ONE NOTICED...  BUT HE STRTED THINKING  PREFAB..  AND WE HAD CONCRETE BLOCKS ALL OVER THE CELLAR AS HE TRIED TO  ATTACH INSULATION AND INTERIOR WALL TO THE SAME BLOCK-- AND NONE OF THE GLUE WAS GOOD ENOUGH AT THAT POINT--  HE WOLD GLUE A BUNC OF STUFF TOGETEHR AND THEN ASK MY FRIEND MARY AND I TO TRY AND BREAK IT-- AND WE DID...
BUT HIS CONCEPT IS NOW A FACT--  AS I LOOK AROUND FOR THIS ISOLATION BUILDING, I CAME TO BLOCKS, INSULATION AND INTERIOR TILE WALL ALL IN ONE PIECE...

COMPETITION- IS OUR NATIONAL DISGRACE. START WITH POLITICS... PLEASE !!
WE ARE BETTER THAN  THEM..... THEY ARE BAD.. WHILE NO ONE REALIZES WE ARE ALL SLIDING OFF THE PROVERBIAL CLIFF

WE AS AMERICANS   CAN TAKE A PERFECTLY ENJOYABLE SPORT -AND MAKE IT INTO A COMPETITION - LITERALLY RUINING ALL THE FUN.  FROM SKIING TO DOG SHOWS   --- WE STRUGGLE  WITH  I AM BETTER THAN THEM .
SOMEWHERE YESTERDAY SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN THE BASIC DIFFERENCE IN THE BRITISH ATTITUDE AS OPPOSED TO THE AMERICAN... I HAVE   DONE DD'S ON THIS BEFORE, BUT AS WE GO ALONG IT SEEMS MORE CLEAR TO ME THAT IT COULD BE  DESCRIBED BY STUDYING THE  TRAFFIC CIRCLE... ROTARY ... OR ROUND-ABOUT... WHERE THERE IS NO ORDERLY LINE.. OR QUEQUE.  I WATCH IT IN SO MANY PLACES-- ESPECIALLY DRIVING--- AT TRAFFIC CIRCLES--AND FREEWAYS "DON'T LEAVE A SPACE OR SOMEONE WILL GET AHEAD OF YOU. " "THERE'S AN OPENING, DUCK IN LINE QUICKLY" WHEN TO WAIT A SPLIT SECOND WOULD REMOVE TEH DRAMA OF DRIVING..

IN THE STATES  WE ARE TRAINED FROM CHILDHOOD--  THE " DON'T LET THEM GET AHEAD OF YOU" IS INGRAINED IN OUR HEADS---
I DON'T THINK I EVER HEARD A PERSON AT UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH  SAY ANYTHING RESEMBLING THE COMPETITIVE EDGE SO FREQUENTLY PRESENT IN THE "STATES"..  ALL THE SITUATIONS WHICH REQUIRE AN ORDERLY LINE UP- ARE/WERE.. JUST THAT .. ORDERLY-- BUT WHEN THE SITUATION WAS A BIT MORE RANDOM,  WHEN ORDEER REALLY DIDN'T MATTER,  THE  AMERICANS STOOD OUT-  OR PUSHED IN...
MANY TIMES I HEARD THE EXPRESSION "NOT VERY BRITISH OF XXXX"  THE BRITISH HAVE FAR MORE "WE" THAN   "I"
I HAVE SEEN MY BRITISH FRIENDS BE TOTALLY BEWILDERED BY  THE COMPETITION WE ARE CONSTANTLY SUBJECT TO.

IT MADE FOR A  VERY ENJOYABLE  YEAR...

JULY 10 2016

GRANTED I WAS NOT TOTALLY AWAKE, NOR DID I HAV E ON ANY HEARING DEVICES..., BUT DID TEH NEWS SAY SOMETING  ABOUT GETTING ANGRY WITH RUSSIA  AND THROWING 2 DIGNITARIES OUT OF THE COUNTRY BECAUSE A POLICEMAN CHASED A DIGNITARY AWAY FROM AN EMBASSY?  I DON'T KNOW WHICH COUNTRY  DID THE CHASING OR THROWING, BUT I AM TREMENDOUSLY REASSURED THAT  IF WORLD WAR 3 STARTS IT WAS OVER SOME WORTHWHILE CAUSE.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO  THE TOM LEHER MUSIC/SONG..."SO LONG MOM, I 'M OFF TO DROP THE BOMB, SO DON' WAIT UP FOR ME, I WILL BE BACK AT THE END OF WORLD WAR 3, AN HOUR AND A HALF FROM NOW."
THE MUSIC OF TOM LEHER HAS SOME GREAT LINES-- HE IS/?WAS? A GOOD PIANIST-- I THINK  A MATHEMATICIAN FROM HARVARD-   HIS LYRICS  COULD BE WORTH A GOOGLE...HE BLAMES NEW MATH  "BASE 8" ON SOMEONE WHO HAD ONLY 8 FINGERS. AND HOW IF YOU WANT TO INVENT ROCKETS YOU BETTER LIEARN TO COUNT BACKWARDS TO ZERO.
**********
THE " ISOLATION  UNIT"
I SHOULD HAVE REALIZED THERE ARE ALOT OF EXPERT BUILDERS OUT THERE IN OUR "CAMERA WORLD"... ABD SEVERAL ARE REACTING TO THE 4" CONCRETE BLOCK I SHOWED AT MAIL CALL YESGTERDAY--  JUST LOOKING AT THE 4" WIDE,  SEEMS TO ME AN 8' HIGH WALL ONLY 4"WIDE  COULD HAVEE  PROBLEMS-- EVEN IF THEY RAN "TABS" INTO AN ADJECENT WOOD WALL...  IT JUST DOESN'T WADDLE LIKE ANY  DUCKS I HAVE SEEN......
2 CAMERA PEOPLE SO FAR HAVE COME UP WITH  OTHER PRODUCTS TO INVESTIGATE-- AND I WILL DO THAT NOW.
ONE  IS THE POSSIBILITY OF USING INSULATED OR GLAZED CONCRETE BLOCK  AND THE OTHER EIFS MADE BY DOW- ALL TO MEET THIS ELUSIVE  R- FACTOR-- WHICH I DON'T ALWAYS REMEMBER.. SOMETHING ABOUT THE PINK FLUFFY 4"WALL STUFF AND THE 6"PINK CEILING WITH NUMBERS LIKE R-19-- I DON'T KNOW WHAT R NUMBER WILL KEEP THE BUILDING INSPECTOR OFF MY DOORSTEP...

I AM USED TO   2X4' S WITH PINK STUFF-- T-111 AND ¼ PLYWOOD INSIDE-  THAT WORKS --  BUT CONCERTE BLOCKS ARE NEW TO ME.

WITH REGARD TO REGULATIONS... I AM HAVING TROUBLE NOT COMMENTING ON THE SHOOTIING GOING ON...
THE LOGIC DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT..  IF MORE GUNS ARE BETTER  "IF A SCHOOLTEACHER HAD HAD A GUN MAYBE THAT GUY WOULDN'T HAVE...."  "IF SOMEONE IN THE THEATER HAD  A GUN MAYBE......."  WELL  AS FAR AS I CAN TELL 99% OF TEH STATE OF TEXAS HAS GUNS AND WHEN THEY NEEDED TO GET THAT GUY, GUNS WERE NOT THE ANSWER SO THEY HAD TO USE  A ROBOT WITH A STICK OF DYNAMITE????

I DO THING THERE COULD BE A MORE CREATIVE USE OF MULTIPLE DRONES  DISPENSING ALL MANNER OF THINGS-- LIKE PEPPER...OR STICKY FLY PAPER TAPES...
FYI-- THERE IS A  LIQUID PRODUCT CALLED "TANGLEFOOT"  AND IT SURE DOES!!!

DETAILS---- I HAVE HUGE PROBLEMS  OF TEH   "OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND"  KIND.. I JUST REMEMBERED STEVE HAS THE BMW SITITING  ( NOT RUNNING)  IN MAINE- AND I THINK IT IS STILL ON SDP  INSURANCE.  THERE ARE MISTAKES LIKE THAT THAT CAN BE SILENTLY EXPENSIVE...

THIS IS WHY I  TRY NEVER  TO GO FOR THE " LET US TAKE  YOUR BILL OUT OF YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT AUTOMATICALLY"  THEY DO THAT BEAUTIFULLY FOR   3 MONTHS THEN THE AMOUNT BEGINS TO SLIDE UP AND I KNOW WHAT  THEY ARE DOING---
I CAUGHT AN OUTFIT DOING THAT LAST WEEK- AND DEMANDED A REFUND AS I HAD ONLY OK'D THE 29.99 AMT-
THEY GAVE ME ALL SORTS OF ARGUEMENT--
NO REFUNDS... MORE ARGUING ---AND THEY WENT   TO 30 % REFUND  TO 50% THEN 75%
WHICH IS WHEN I TOLD THEM I WOULD REPORT IT AS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AN OLD LADY ---THEY ASKED WHO WOULD I REPORT IT TO...I SAID TEH ATTORNY GENERAL OF MASS. AD THEY DECIDED TO REFUND IT ALL WIHTIN 5 DAYS..
LESSON BEING-- WHEN BLUFFING -- GO TO THE TOP.

july 9 2016
it is a new world.-- and i am not sure about it.  there is so much available that  the tendency to wander off some cliff is imminent
todays cliff in point--
i have not yet been happy about any harness i have owned- including several very expensive leather ones that i can't even find any more....
so the cliff i am wandering off.... is  ----  i found a harness  that is nearly what i would like--but would need some changes...
it has to be comfortable for the dog... i like the planet dog ones for that reason... but it gets complicated to try and make them the real working harness becasue you can't get  patches or id's on them.....or have them carry anything.. like poo pickers emergency equipment.-- so i redesigned a vest...-- for a dane of any size ( long girth)  that   have a 4 x 7 pouch can hold our 3 x 6  oo pickers vertically
clipped to either side-- and a smaller  id/credit card holder  on the other...  etc...--
i contacted the  catalog  with a perfectly englishy name and got a response from a very nice person
Moon Zhana  who quoted me a  price  Exw Guangzhou. 2016å¹´7月8æ—¥(星期五) 19:14 7.5 300
deciphering that  is the problem...
as we go b ack and forth  it sounds like a sample model would be $50 and aftetr that i would have to order somewhere between 50 and 300-- as yet to figure out...  and also what that Exw involves... i think it involves  the shipping containers like the one that stores the purina food.... which reminds me of a song " on a slow boat to china"

the question always is.....how many do we have to sell to break even..  like the calendars...and the rest we can pile up in the overflow room.... and is this a "we" purchase or an    "i" purchase.. --- i don't mind making it  my whacko idea and to suffer with the consequences of a  boatload of ahrnesses  i have paid for....--  but if they are good and we/i can sell them,  i don't want every one to decide i am makeing a profit that is really sdp's. no way do i think we should risk any fun money on this deal..   "the board" would never approve.....
i really want a new harness for bentley-  a lot more user friendly...  and i know rose doggie could design  things like a "windbreaker" for this harness- along with a few other add-ons..
well that is todays dilemma....so far....

Could you confirm these dates are ok?
Also nest week I will be shipping the equipment view fedex freight, are there any special instructions I would need to provide to the driver for delivery?
If you have any questions fell free to give me a call or email me.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Carlene,

Well, here is not-so-great news:  I ended up falling and breaking my ankle Wednesday night.  Clark caught me when I started falling, but then I stepped wrong again and my foot rolled under me.  We went to get it checked out, and there is a fracture.  The only other time I've broken a bone was when I was 4, so I think it hurt my pride as much as my foot. :)

Clark was great, though he knew I was hurt and didn't like people trying to look at my foot.  As soon as I sat down on the hospital bed, he climbed right up next to me.  No one said that he couldn't be up there, so that's where he stayed until I went home.  I think it helped both of us feel better.

We've been doing pretty well so far at home.  Clark has been helping me get up and down.  When I sit up from bed, he comes right over to help without me saying anything!  It's presented opportunities to be creative about how to take care of each other, that's for sure.  Hopefully I am on the road to recovery and will get back on my feet quickly.
Hope all is well at SDP.--- caroline

CARLENE - I work at a place where there are a lot of bigwigs that are constantly running to meetings. Their secretaries have taken to writing their appointments on cards that fit into their shirt pockets. During meetings, these guys will pull out their cards to see where they are supposed to be and when next. They even will write down new meetings has they are scheduled and give them back to the secretaries at the end of the day to add to their schedules. And yes every single one of them has ALL of the technical gadgets available, but those cards are the things that keep them organized.

We had a little brightness shine at the Anoka County Sheriff's Office today in what has been a very dark week of events. A family dropped off a bunch of "Survival Kits for Police" to show their appreciation of the staff here at the Sheriff's Office. The text of the label reads

 "Survival Kit for Police.
Life Savers: To remind you of the times you've been one.
StarBurst: For the burst of energy you'll need.
Payday: Because you're not doing it for the money.
Paper Clips: To help hold it all together.
Hershey Kisses: Because you deserve them from all.
Gum: To help your unit stick together.
tootsie Rolls: To help you roll with the punches.
Peppermint Patty: To help you keep your cool.
Snickers: To remind you to keep your sense of humor.
Mounds: for the mound of thanks you deserve.
This simple act of kindness means more to us than you can imagine. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!

GOOD MORNING, CARLENE!

IN REGARDS TO THE BOOK YOU MIGHT WRITE........THROUGH THE PAST FEW YEARS, I GONE THROUGH OLDER POSTS AND HAVE TAKEN SNIPPETS FROM THE DD AND PUT THEM ONTO A DOCUMENT THAT I CAN REFER TO AS I NEEDED FOR A QUICK REFERENCE IN TRAINING, ETC.  MOST OF THE SNIPPETS ARE FROM OLDER DD POSTS.  I ALSO HAD THE VISION OF BREEDING MY DANE, PENNI, SO I SNIPPED INFO REGARDING EARLY PUPPY RAISING.
I'VE ATTACHED THE DOCUMENT.  SOME INFO IS FROM THE DD AND SOME FROM ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS I HAVE ASKED FROM EMAIL.  YOU ARE A WEALTH OF INFORMATION, AND I THINK IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU COULD GET IT ALL DOWN IN A BOOK!!
HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Tami Jorajuria - (cp name:  Havadane-OR)
*********
hi tami--- with your  name...  havadane-- you aren't related to chromadane are you?
i have tried to contact chromadane looking for a black male pup-- she has great agility dogs and says she does service dogs, but maybe i have the wrong address... i get no response...  she belongs to the GDCA   i know the great dane club of amreica has never thought too highly of me---  they had their reasons--- but i was hoping  sdp has  gone beyond  the usual complaints.
i sound like a very irresponsible breeder-- i do breed dogs which have not participated in the akc championship program--  to breed dogs without a CH in front of their names has been the breed program clubs way of limiting  irresponsible  breeding..Some people read about the huge price a perfectly marked harlequin dog will bring- and figure  tehy can do that.- so they breed spots to spots and get all blacks  or all merles  and then can't sell them to people all set to deal with a dane...
long story......
i can't say i was alot different bqck when i bought "tiffany"  from bmw kennel in long island... #1 akc dane  kennel...  i knew i could never afford to buy a lovley harl  so i bought her --- a mantle/  - and laura--- the BMW kennel owner- bred her for me...what i didn't realize was that laura had intended to  sell all the pups and give me ½ the  money without letting me keep even one pup -  possession is 9/10th the law... so i kept them all... and she kept all the paperwork... so i was on my way with unregistered danes... but beautiful.

this was many years ago--?1988?    and as i wandered the midwest--kansas etc--- looking for our donkey MARY....  i found many people would happliy sell me papers to go with my litter of  "unregistered " pups. i did not go that road- not because  of any moral committment, i saw the whole  akc papers system as basically flawed. and began to argue with akc that breeding dogs be DNA tested...
AKC FINALLY DID OFFER DNA TESTING for $40-- and i assumed it was  to determine paternity.i paid many $40 fees-- then i got  into a situation where 2 males had covered one female without my blessing- and i wanted to know which was the father of a specific pup (  each pup has one father.... but you realize a littter of pups can have more than one father)   i tested the 2 males and the one pup and akc showed either could have been th e father... the pro bability of that is astroniomical-- so i called akc... turns out  teh dna test for paternity was $120 per dog-- my disappointment was large....and i quit trying to behave---
i had good dogs. i knew that...and if everyone wanted me to get blue ribbons to prove that, so be it.... i went to the ribbon store and bought 100 blue ribbons for 15 cents each..  a wonderful deal when--  to get the CH in front of you r name by going to dog shows was costing  up to  $60,000.   i was not popular--so when it came to breed a female, no legitimate AKC breeder would let me use their stud... with the exception of one woman in new york.. bless her.. said for $1000 i could use her "earl"... so i bred mabliine to her "earl"  way down there at the bottom of our " sdp TREE" - but ater that , in an effort not to breed related dogs, i got going with the foriegn  bloodlines  .. deagle from belgium,   mr adams from canada... bobby from budapest and now walter from denmark...
so i am persona non grata.

one other "how times have changed"  in that first litter of tiffany's there was a merle pup and linda- the akc super person- told me to get rid of it they were useless and bad for the breed-  i did not "get rid of " her  but someone from ?nh? needed a dog to pull his daughters wheelchair so she could go to the pizza place with her friends-- so i gave him that  "useless" pup   i wish i knew who that was now....
i hear that the akc is even considering "letting" people show merles... and  they are havig cvommittee meetings to decide what might be the  allowed color patterns..
how do you people with merle service dogs feel about that.???   that is why strangers will often say "i have never seen a dane that color---'   they were often destroyed at birth.  mine never were...
it wll also be a cold day in heii i take a dog into a  show ring.

hi sdp.....
Bella and George had such an amazing day. They started their day going to an Art Camp. On Studio on the Common in Winchester center, they run an art camp for kiddos and Bella went for the day. She had such a fun time. Their were about 15 girls ranging from 7-11. They did a bunch of different art
project and even went outside to the common to do some projects and everything worked perfect. George behaved himself, I do have to admit when Bella snt me a text that they were in the common I was a bit nervous. The common is not fenced in or anything with the main road right there but
everything worked out great. George did his job and behaved. Bella had a lot of fun and wants to go back again. So we shall set that up soon.
Tonight we went into Boston with our friend Allison and her 3 great kids. Taylor 9, Hunter and Jack are 8. Hunter and Jack both have Morquio just like Bella. We went to meet Rachel and her son Oliver who is 14 also with MORQUIO. They are here from New Zealand to see some doctors. They were all
impressed with George and how well he did. He was content during dinner and then after dinner we went outside and took his best off so that everyone could say hi. We all know how much George loves to say hi once he is allowed to. Bella enjoys meeting others who also have Morquio, everyone joked
about taking George home with them. I don't think Bella would allow that to happen! But it was a great night meeting new friends. But it is way past bedtime so off I go.
 Love Bella and George
