i am literally afraid of the cold.. all those people who run to florida are looking more and more sensable but i do have a snow suit-- left over from all those santa jobs we did 100 years ago.. i don;t even want to remember those--- it was cold.. i /we were so bundled up  in a pile of hay once on a santa job-  that they called the police thinking we were homeless- ***** i was up all night worrying about enough heat in the various dog houses luckily we did not loose power... we have alot of people here at the moment cp's jody and ajay   -- plus grace and pam-  and  cindy + husband  who are applying. .the overnight person didn't get here..  so the pups are camped out in the"dorm" and big dogs in the house.. that does work  because we can watch them on camera-- ****** we do have emergency lights that are to come on if the tmp drops below 55 degrees but last night, the generic light was not left on to indicate there was electricity in the building in the first place... i am assuming since the house elect did not fail -- that the nutt and deqagle houses are live. and i know that could be an assumption... if a breaker trips. pam did go out about midnight and they were fine....  not toasty... but fine. we might light the wood stoves there today... thanks to the cp's we have a good  wood/coal stove in the deagle house too.. *** apparently a japanese film crew is due here today at 9am to film george's relatives etc i suppose ---to be accurate it is no longer a film crew but  digiters here to digit george's relatives... it is going to  be a thankless job in this weather... i thought we would have to be in the training room--unless they can figure out a shot in here it would be alot easier i here---- i.e. warmer.... maybe  if we shift furnature --- we could stay here... which would also be  "on camera" i am remembering cameras that were 3 foot long with lights 4' around in this new modern world probably the camera is on someone's wrist. i can remember flying  a speial slow motion camera from LA strapped  in a first class seat and flown back the same day... ***** cindys husband  got the whipped cream maker  making whipped cream wow...  now to try maple flavored whipped cream--- which is  the concept of how this all got started... ***** margaret came up with an  odd one... she discovered the pups were uneasy going out in the dark... they re in the light most of the time...  either that or it was after their bedtime and could see no reason to be out walking around. ** i tried the 5 x suduko puzzles and got one done...---- it isn't that hard.. but looks impressive ***** the more i think about it.. the better i like digiting here time to take down the ^&*()&% behind the couch--  that could be a good interviewing place...right opposite the fireplace !! and it will  be on  explore camera too.

LIKE TEH PIPES -- THESE OUTDOOR FAUCETS- ARE RIGGED TO SHTU OFF THE WATER ABOUT 12 " INSIDE THE BUILDING... WHICH USUALLY WORKS-- UNLESS IT IS ZERO WITH WIND TO -30 DEGREES.. SO  EVEN A SHOP LIGHT  WHERE THE PIPE COES IN THE CELLAR MAY KEEP THAT FROM HAPPENING.   WE HAVE HEAT TAPES ON LOTS OF PIPE WHERE WE KNOW THEY FREEZE... BUT NEED SOME 100 WATT BULBS  IN  2 PLACES  AND UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK, MAYBE ONE PLACE IN THE LAUNDRY.. THE BARN IS USUALLY OK AS IT COMES IN 5 FOOT UNDERGROUND... AND WE CAN SHUT OFF THE PPIPE THAT GOES TO EACH KENNEL...... IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD TO BREAK A PIPE IN THE KENNEL A ND HAVE IT SPRAY A DOG......

THERE IS HEAT IN THE KENNEL--- BUT THE METAL PIPE THRU THE WALL MIGHT BE ENOUGH TO FREEZE IT..

WE HAD THE 2 WOOD STOVES GOING  IN THE NUTT AND DEALGL HOUSE YESTERDAY-- THE DEAGLE HOUSE GOT TO BE 110 DEGREES PRETTY QUICKLY-- HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR !!

modern medicine is wonderful - all this available technology..

to keep the system going straight, i am supposed to have a general practice guy as my main doctor...

(my old one went to work in brazil)---- there were 3md's  accepting new patients-

randomly i picked one.    i need to go back and try #2 or #3. the problem was- 

the system needed a GP on file...  and 

i can not continue with benedryl and brandy as a sleeping aid- 

my hand  is keeping me awake... i specified i needed just a sleeping aid and not something

that would  affect me during the day as i had chores involving heavy equipment ( the tractor)

he ordered a very long name stuff...-- and i looked it up online--

the cautions??

once you start don't stop because of suicide (? guarenteed income for drug company?)

don't take if you have epilepsy ( even tho  with medication, i have not had a seizure in 35 years, it is clearly on my chart)

and don't drive or use machinery.

i didn't think he was listening.....

i have alsways been slightly suspicious of the  question  they always ask..."are you in any pain  0 -10"

and if you are , they can help... hmmmmmmmmmm..where does addiction come in there?  next is   "you need to come in before  we can refil it..." .. and "if you want to take a pill here, the cup of water is $2.73" -    i know business is business--- but ....the whole concept of medical insurance blows my mind... .

back when ---- i was setting up the computer billing for my husbands  medical office ( ?1970'S ), the office visit was $20- and he made  $6.83-  the rest went to the insurance companies.... who had great BIG buildings in boston and hartford..... he was thrilled with the woman who paid for the visit  with  some home made baked beans in a coffee can--

that is not a political statement-- i don't think any of these political clowns have any answer  to that one.

oh.. i do have a political story--  my sister-- who is 4 years older than i--told me that if Truman won the election the world would come to an end-  i remember staying up all night worrying about that-- i even know which bed i was in while worrying... i must have been ?? 10 ?? ...

on to the poo & vomit report....

 both pups in the house have not splattered but had soft mounds.... it just happens--once in a while- steve is trying to identify anything that might be different-- like why these two?? out of 31... decided to have upset tummies at the same time.  he wondered about the left over  soap/cholorx on the floor-- good idea.. so we will now have the scrubbers do the towel dance and dry the floor  better  after mopping.  that would take about 15 seconds  per kennel...-- i always wonder about too much food- or strange snacks   .. we are supposed to have none of those...  or things like a partial can of wet food left out of the refrigerator?? it would bother a person's tummy... you know -- the warm mayonaise  type problem...

From Bella's Mom:

 Today was infusion day. I think George really likes home infusion because he gets to come home from school and sleep on the big

barker bed. When it was hospital infusions he would spend 6 hours laying on a mat at the hospital so this is much better. 

Bella gets to play games with her amazing nurse and George gets to sleep. Who could ask for anything more? 

Maybe besides not needing infusions but that isn't an option. 

But either way infusion went well today, and Bella and George are tucked into the Barker Bed. It seems to be their bed of choice now.

 Bella has slept in it every night since it came in the mail. George sleeps on it during the day and starts the night with Bella but 

a couple times has moved onto her bed. I think it's the   nights she is extra squirmy! (I would leave her bed then also)

. I may just have to get rid of her twin bed.

I know why there are such strange advertisements in the middle of the night... not only is the rate cheaper, but if you fall asleep with the tv on, they can plant in your head what you must do..  so today-- for $19.99  -- without doubling the offer--- i must own a fry pan that slides 2 eggs out onto a plate with out any sticking-- and if i feel like it i can take a fork and dig  away and it wont scratch...

i am not too sure why i would want to scratch a pan with a fork... but they said i could...- so for $19.99 i intend to buy one and  fry eggs and try the slide. -- as long as the shipping and handling does not exceed the cost of the pan...

i am on some list tht delivers  to my computer  a new word of the day.... and today it was  GRUNTLE???   to put in good humor----  i never knew that was a word... i only know DISGRUNTLED as someone who has already been put in a bad humor...and visually someone who has  not combed their hair can look disgruntled....

tv.....   The news of the disgruntled people getting off that ship in new jersey which got caught in a storm with 30 foot waves   for several hours....... they said it was like a roller coaster that you could not get off.----- ever since i saw the preview to titanic, i have not been able to get in a large rowboat.... i can not imagine  actually paying money to go on a cruise ship..   i also can not imagine owning the ship and having to refund all that money...and what would they do with all the shrimp and  steaks left over ?

i am glad there are other people to worry about those heavy duty problems...

  and i am glad we apparently have an accountant who has all the  papers we need for the attorney general's office.

 irene.... she sent a contract for 2015-- it is about 12 pages long- of course i did not read it all... i did see one number of $6000 mentioned--- i assume the other 11.5 pages refer to doing whatever the attorney gen  office wants.  actually i will call her.. and cut to the chase- $6000 and i do nothing, correct?  sounds like a bargain.... because i have had accountants talk of numbers like 15,000.. as long as the papers get filed--

i could have sworn i signed all those 2012,3,4 once before..  however signing papers is cheap.

 back to truth in the answering of questions.....i don't like it when someone tells me "no you did not sign them'"  which sounds like  i  refused for some reason to sign them 

 when in fact what they mean is "i don't remembering you signing them" ..  a far more accurate statement.

the black pup -- grommen- has vomited 6 times in 24 hours... i just asked the overnight person "did he eat some canned food?"  and was told "i didn't want to feed him too much"  not ANSWERING THE QUESTION....ALL I WANTED TO KNOW WAs "is there food in his tummy which might come out again"   apparently he has over 1/2 can in there... which so far has stayed there.... and he is picking at the food flipping device...   so far so goood. he is using is foot to flip--- good boy.  he certainly feels good.

Can you please remind the CP that they are not allow to except gifts, some people are sending money they have to send it back to them, they are very thankful but they can not keep these gifts.

MY MISERIES WITH MY MAC COMPUTER MAY BE OVER...  I FINALLY CALLED WITH THE FULL INTENTION OF HIRING SOMEONE TO COME LOOK OVER THIS  MACHINE- IT WAS COLD OUT AND SITTING ON HOLD in front of the fireplace  Was a perfect  thing to do- so i got all set--- cup of coffee-- suduko puzzle book.. nice fire... and  darned if i wasn't put right thru to  a CPU senior advisor  Frank---   it took 3.2 minutes  for me to realize this guy knew what he was talking about- and will wondeers never cease... he spoke english !!  and was in indianna !! what a pleasant man... and he knew his stuff ----i fully expected an aging teenager in india   .. it took a while as he suffered with my lack of knowledge and hearing...- but hung in there.. and we deleted  27,000 things by actual count. my mac feels much better now...it had the exlax treatment.

By the time we had  finished, i had found out he was  60 years old... wow !

he reminded me of the older man i talked to the day i needed help with my ancient check writer-- at 75 he knew that checkwriter inside and out... and was very pleased to be of help with it.

the fact that i was shocked to get a real person who was helpful is another comment on  the state of the world. 

 this country could have full employment if they  made illegal the words " please stay on the line your call is important."

AND THAT VETERNARIAN SHOW  WITH DR POL STILL DOES-----  A PREGENACY CHECK ON A LARGE ANIMAL -- HORSE,COW,DONKEY BY "FEELING" FOR THE FETUS WITH A  RECTAL MANUAL EXAM -- WITH A SHOULDER LEGNTH GYN  SLEEVE AND A SMEAR OF MINERAL OIL--THAT WAS QUICK, SIMPLE, AND THE VET COULD ESTIMATTE THE  DUE DATE... .. BUT NOW... IT IS POSSIBLE TO DRAW BLOOD, SEND IT OFF TO A LAB SOMEWHERE AND WAIT A WEEK  FOR SOMEONE TO INTERPERT IT  AND GET A YES  OR A NO..  ?THIS IS PROGRESS? 

 WE REALLY SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE PALM SUNDAY IS COMING AND WE DO GET CALLS FOR A DONKEY TO PARADE FOR VARIOUS JESUS JOBS.  BEING A DONKEY THAT WAS RESCUED FROM TH E SLAUGHTER PENS IN TEXAS, WE HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT HER--- AND IF SHE IS NOT PREGO... SHE IS GETTING TOO MUCH FOOD.  THERE IS A BULDGE THAT LOOKS A LITTLE STRANGE.  SHE HAS NO MILK BAG YET ...

JUst a quick update:

Audrey is settling in very well with our family.  We haven't had any issues at all.  She is eating, playing, running, sleeping and listening very well. 

My border collie is quirky and will not come all the way up the basement steps without being specifically invited to do so and yesterday Audrey kept coming in the living  and staring right at me and then running back out thru the dining room.  I went to see what her issue was and there was Kenny waiting at the top of the stairs and after he came all the way up she was happy and settled down.  She always makes sure she knows where he is at at all times...

We are very, very happy with our new addition!

2 wow's---first the check from memsaic is on the way $18058.50   to which we could add the $2120 of quick picks sent to us directly... bless you all !!   second wow... i am glad i got the flyers/poster  made for the cake bit.//   i have just put a bunch  of envelopes in the outgoing mail place with a poker chip for good luck... this should be a kick !! ****** basic financial report- so far  so good.. i did give everyone a temp bonus for the holidays  with the caviot that it might be for a few months only.  it looks like adding a few more part time  people might be a better  to go---namely linda to help theresa with the paperwork department... shannon #47 helping with training-- and  additional barn mgr for the afternoon/evening. and the building is on schedule... ( whatever that schedule was...  jeff is managing it)- all 31 pups are doing nicely... plus  we have food---the overflow room is overflowing with texas toast--  what more could we need.??? ****** did i mention yesterday that obama declared all military dogs will be brought here and  retired on us soil...  i guess we all should be aware of helpiing that process if a dog needs to find a home...  there is one in our area... a veteran followed the dog to alaska and brought it here to ?everett??... so i  told him to come join us and we would figure out somethign. we can't help everyone... but we can help some. **** hardly interesting... but....  i hope you all will notice at mail call -- the  super shelving next to my desk...donna theresa and i cleaned it up yesterday-- there was janine's mail in an odd slot  dated november 2014-- and included several critical things.. like trailer registration.. i thought we finally had the trailer problem straight-- i have 3  --- a dump ( reg)-- a  featherlite horse ( unknown reg has been owned by both janine and myself many times as cars changed etc...) and a  tracer - donkey trlr(unknown reg) i also own an amazing collection of electrical connections---  car round to the uhaul 4 flat-- and the 4 flat car to the trailer round-- many...purchased every time we cold not find  the right one... it has been a tough 30 years... **** i have always wanted a car that could pull an d a trailer with the right electrical and reg--  a lifetime goal of mine. in an effort to achieve this ...and register the horse trailer to me... we could not find the title--- so .. since the donkey trailer was very similar ( just shorter) i reg the horse with the donkey certificate of origin. i thought i was pretty close to home free and then i found thei mail in janine's slot.. from 2014   the reg papers for  a merlow trailer (i never owned a physical one of those)  transferred from a deidre to janine..  which then got transferred from janine to me. so i am back to not knowing which is which and to whom is anything reg.???? sitting in the yard is a featherlite and a tracer...  but the papers???  somebody  said this area of  ipswich/hamilton has more horse trailers per square foot  than any other part of the country... i do believe it because there are alot of 2 acre lots-- and most have  a horse trailer. there is alot of trailer swapping that goes on... obviously... ************* it is this "what difference would it make"-- that gets me into toruble with  adi and  the attorney general's office and the  yearly pc return   ----it is better now that someone else has to do it.  it is against my nature  to file papers anyway. ***** remember my historuy is in statistical mathematics..  math 101.. you tell me what you want to prove and i will make up the statistics to go with it. very interesting in this political atmosphere...   " the rate of increase of unemployment has gone down" one political persuasion would hear only  buzz words  unemployment and down.. ***** i better get back to  the  ^%&*()_(*  paperwork. ****** from bella's mom   i wish i could put in the picture well ---let me try   ??    http://a.disquscdn.com/uploads/mediaembed/images/3181/4966/original.jpg bella and george were adorable when I woke up and I saw them snuggling together on their Big Barker Bed. Zena is learning to retrieve. She has watched Savvy (Dennis SD), and another SD I had here for awhile retrieve things and get rewards. She decided if they could do it, she could too. She has picked up an ink pin, remote, keys, socks, and several other items. She will get her leash, and even picked it up in the grocery store and gave it to me. She will tug off my socks and give them to me. She hasn't got the "hold" down yet, so I have to be quick, or find the items in her bed.

Yesterday after I fed the barn animals, I came in the house to change in into my house shoes. They were gone. "Zena, where are my shoes? Go get them". Zena ran around the dinning room table and brought back a shoe. "Ok, where is the other on? Go get it." She ran around the table again, and came back with the other shoe. They were not even redesigned this time. I was so impressed!

Earlier today she was demanding attention, so I said "show me what you want". She led me over to her harness to go outside. So, we went outside and played catch for awhile. She is such a smart girl.

 ON THE REAL SIDE... BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD BY HANDLERS IN GENERAL THAT  ONE  OF THE 31 PUPS IS DEAF. WE HANDLED HER DIFFERENTLY-- AND NOW THAT WE KNOW SHE IS NOT DEAF, SHE IS LEARNING AND BEHAVING DIFFERNETLY... THERE MIGHT BE A LESSON THERE SOMEWHERE..

I WOULD STUDY IT ... EXCEPT I HAVE TO MAKE NUMBERS MATCH.
