getting papers off my desk into proper piles brings me to ... buying a horse.

it is common practice to have a horse vetted (?is this where the polititians get the word?) -  to have a veterinarian look the horse over before you buy it..-- and i don't mean to imply that.... with all their training etc----- but after years... let me tell  you how it works...

 you bring out a horse that you have already looked over and it seems ok--and you all stand around as the vet picks up one leg at a time and fully bends it for a minute and person #2 then trots the horse away on a hard surface-- and you  all watch for irregularities ( or the sound  of the steps is "off")  maybe even takes xrays--(more expensive)

and after all this...  because horses are horses no vet in his right mind will tell you the horse is sound - so they say "he is pre navicular" -  which is some arthritic type deteriation of teh small bones in the front feet.-- that is his business mind working--so he says that "for insurance"-- every horse is pre navicular--

 i hear people type doctors use the same logic sometimes-- "we better operate on that knee because it is pre arthritic."

lets face it -- at 78... i am pre -arthritic.

i was bragging to a young- just out of school veternarian  that in  all our bloodlines we had no hip dysplasia.. and..... here i comes..."it is there in minor form, it just doesn't show"..ok...... if it doesn't show or affect the dog so it doesn't show  then lets just ignore the  topic and don't give me the line that the dog needs surgery because it is pre anything.

then there was old  Dr Thibeault--at 80- a well respected horseman--he was a coffee drinking type friend- i had found a horse i thought  would be good for one  the kids.. - so i asked him to come look at THAT HORSE ( his name)---he watched the horse trot out - and didn't both with all the knee bending, he just said "if you don't buy him, i will".. now that is an opinion that was worth getting.

so back to my desk and teh chart

FIRST AND FOREMOST-- 

I STRIVE TO BREED STRONG HEALTHY  GREAT DANES FOR SERVICE DOGS.

I LIKE HARLEQUINS - THEY ARE UNUSUAL AND PEOPLE WITH

 DISABILITIES  FIND THEIR SIZE AND COLOR A WELCOME DISTRACTION FROM DISABILITY.

IF WE ARE BLESSD WITH A WHITE DOG-- DEAF OR NOT-- THEY HAVE A HAPPY LIFE AHEAD OF  THEM

I KNOW WHERE THEY ARE-- THEY ARE HAPPY-- AND I AM EVEN CONSIDERING NEXT TIME WE ARE SHORT IN DOGS, WONDERING IF A GOOD SOLID WHITE  DANE WOULD BE A GOOD SERVICE DOG. 

 BAILEY OR EVEN RIOT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT.

HISTORICALY  COMMON BELIEF AND THE AKC BREEDERS  DECLAREED ALL MERLE DOGS INFERIOR AND NOT WORTH RAISING.. YET SOME OF OUR MERLE DOGS HAVE WORKED BEAUTIFULLY FOR 10 YEARS AS SERVICE DOGS.

SO  i LEARNED EARLY THAT  THE COMMON BELIEF NEEDED FURTHER STUDY...

HAVE A CHART OF (nearly)ALL THE  DOGS I HAVE BRED SINCE ABOUT 1993

 SHORT DOGGIE TODAY--- I HAVE MUCH PAPERWORK GATHERING TO DO.  STARTING WITH THE INFIRMARY BUILDING, SOME GRANT WRITING, AND LAWYER STUFF.. 

IN YESTERDAYS DD I TOLD ANYONE WHO HAD ANY ISSUES FOR THE BOARD TO SEND THEM IN 25 WORDS OR LESS..

AND I GOT A FEW... TO BE READ AT THE BOARD MEETING...I PRINTED THEM ALL  SO I WOULD BE  OFFICIAL.

COUPLE ACTUAL SUGGESTIONS ABOUT CAPITAL PROJECTS,A FEW  TELLING ME HOW WONDERFUL WE ARE

AND ONE TELLING ME WHAT AN SOB I AM.

THE BOARD HAD   ONE COMPLAINT  WHICH THEY HAD RECIEVED - WHICH WE ADDRESSED- IT WAS SUGGESTED WE CHANGE SOME OF THE WORDING ABOUT HOW TO MAKE A COMPLAINT... AND THEN WE ATE PIZZA.... AT CAMERA MARK'S HOUSE.

THE CONTRACTOR IS DUE HERE AT 8AM---  HE THINKS THE TOWN HALL  WOULD PREFER AN OFFICIAL "SET OF PLANS" FOR THE INFIRMARY BUILDING...... AS OPPOSED TO MY GRAPH PAPER WITH LINES---WHICH IN THE PAST HAS WORKED FINE....I SAY "THE CONTRACTOR"... THIS IS THE GUY WHO ACTUALLY OWNES A WHOLE BUNCH OF HUGE EQUIPMENT--SOMETIMES CONTRACTORS ARE ONLY SOME GUY WITH A PHONE BOOK OF  COMPANIES THAT ACTUALLY DO THE WORK.-- I CAN SKIP THAT PERSON-- SURVEY HAS BEEN DONE...  HE-- JEFF--AN D I HAVE WORKED ON MANY PROJECTS TOGETHER IN GETTING SDP PUT TOGETHER THIS FAR... THINKS HE CAN GET SOME PAPER PICTURES TO SATISFY THE NEW BUILDING INSPECTOR.

WHILE TOTALLLY UNDERSTANDING MY GRAPH PAPER...

I MET WITH RACHAEL.... YOU KNOW... BELLA AND GEORGE'S "SECRETARY.".  THEY NEED ONE TO KEEP TRACK OF WHERE  THEY ARE TO BE NEXT---- AND WEDNESDAY IT IS  FLYING TO CALIFORNIA FOR A FILMING OF THE DOCTORS SHOW.

GEORGE IS PERFECT-- BELLA DARN CUTE-- BUT RACHAEL KEEPS IT ALL GOING STRAIGHT... SHE IS A PERFECT RECIPIENT'S MOTHER... AND BELLA'S SISTER IS A HUGE HELP TOO.

RACHAEL'S MOM THINKS THINGS OUT PRETTY WELL--- LIKE TRYING TO DEAL WITH THE TINY  REST ROOM ON A PLANE WITH A 135 POUND DOG THAT KNOWS HE SHOULD STAY WITH BELLA.

RCHHAEL AND I TALKED ABOUT THE END OF THE JAPANESE FILM WHERE SHE FOOLS WITH BELLA AND SWINGS HER AROUND..  GEORGE DID NOT APPROVE AND CAME VERY CLOSE TO BITING HER.-- HEY-- HE WAS DOING HIS JOB....

 Bella had indoor recess and gym today. She loves gym day. She was telling me how she won a race during gym today. All 

 the kids in her class do such an amazing job making her feel like one of the class and include her and make her feel good. I love that she has this great group of kids to go with her into the middle school next year. 

After school Bella did homework and George took a nap. I started packing for our California trip since we leave super early Wednesday I have to be slightly organized. We are trying to figure out how to get a Disney day in there cause how can we go to Cali and not take Gabi and Bella to Disney land for the 

 day. Bella is happy she only has 1 more day of school this week even though we have a very early flight Wednesday. I sure hope the girls sleep on the plane or it could make for a tough interview with The Doctors Show in the afternoon! We will surely have a busy couple of days. So off we go!!

Hello Carlene , Just thought I'd give you an update about Dash and myself. 

Life has been treating us very good and we have been very busy as of late helping others . 

Recently Dash and I have been helping veterans who are incarcerated and have ptsd get the help they need versus incarceration in the prison system.  The county sheriff dept reached out to Dash and I to see if we would be interested in helping and of course we said yes . It has gained a lot of attention here locally and Dash is loving every bit of it. 

The other part to us is the whole jail thing also caught the eye of the New York State Department of Criminal Justice and they have reached out to Dash and I for being a part of their Ptsd/suicide prevention program for State Law enforcement personnel.  We just attended a 2 day seminar where we were asked to be a guest speaker on PTSD and suicide . It was a hit ! Dash was amazing and was there with me the whole way . We are looking forward to this nrw joirney in our lives in paying things forward with the things we are doing. 

She has truly turned out to be quite the lady in social situations . Without her I wouldn't have had the courage to do what we are now doing. She helps me walk through my pain. 

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and look forward to seeing everyone soon down at the farm.

Three weeks ago, my wife, Cindy, and I brought Ava to our home from the Service Dog Project (SDP) at “Crazy Acres”. How life has changed! Cindy’s mobility and speech are both adversely affected by Spinocerebellar Ataxia. With Ava by her side, Cindy is far more comfortable going out in public without me, and together, Cindy and Ava are walking in the woods alone! Cindy’s physical therapist has noted that Cindy’s gait has already improved. 

Ava is so well trained that strangers constantly remark on her behavior. When she is “working” with her vest on, Ava is only focused on Cindy, despite distractions. Ava is able to hear and to respond to Cindy’s vocal commands in crowded, noisy spaces even though Cindy is not able to speak above a whisper.

Although Cindy walks a little taller when people compliment Ava, it is to Carlene, the dedicated trainers, the many volunteers and CP’s that credit is due. The match between Cindy and Ava, who is so responsive to Cindy’s needs, could not be more perfect. Without Crazy Acres many people, not only those with disabilities, but those who work or volunteer with the dogs and those who watch the dogs on camera would never know the richness of life with Danes. 

Ava is such a gift. Thank you all. We couldn’t ask for a better companion for Cindy. Cindy’s big smile and new love of life has made me a happy man.

WE LIKE HAPPY MEN-- THEY PARTY..........NOW IF WE CAN PROMOTE THE IDEA OF SDP PARTIES  WE WILL GET ALL THESE PUPS SPAYED YET !!! EVEN DOLLAR UP PARTIES... IT ALL COUNTS.

SO FROM MY ONLY MENS ROOM EXPERIENCE, I HAVE CONCLUDED THEY MIGHT NOT KNOW 

WHICH REST ROOM THEY ARE IN ANYWAY.

anne is back.. ---from vietnam yet--- had some very positive interesting things to say about the land and people.. her body is still not sure what day it is--  we went to lunch at 1:00 just after she had breakfast at 12:15.

we have paperwork to do...   the explore people want a report in april  on what we did for the past year with all thier money.

without explore there would be a very reduced program here... like 2 dogs a year trained by  me- the list is long about what we would not have...kennels, laundry,overnight people,tractor, not to mention  cameras, and camera people - both as volunteers and donors to the chicken bricks on which we are so dependent..  people ask how we got involved with explore.... and i honestly don't know.

crazy acres has been known to be a very different kind of place for a long time...- minus the normal usual competition kind of things... dog shows, horse shows, cricket shows-- whatever.

i remember someone asking me if they could  put in cameras- i was busy at the time  and said "as long as they don't cost me anything"

and 2 guys and one woman began digging a hole  and put in the puppy hill camera  all by themsilves - i was busy ......so i just kept doing my thing- whatever it was-  and  as life went on they strung wires , climbed trees , and did all  manor  of things.. and i kept dogging it... somehow it went together to what we now have.... a very active crazy acres- enjoyed by thousands in the virtual community while donating  117  georges to the handicap world.

since my  part of this "home" has been reduced to one room and a bathroom, i am going to deduct the whole place  on my income tax... which i am told will precipitate an audit-- well you go rigtht at it guys...  there is not a door in the place without teeth and toe marks...

the interesing part is  rachel  takes bella for a rough housing swing around her--- and george does not approve at all... he idid not like her treating his pal bell like that.... and tries to stand on her head.  it was a close call.. he did not understand.... and he did not approve..

We finished our first full week at work, and Clark and I are making great progress.  We are getting used to walking together, and to people commenting on his size, how beautiful he is, etc.  I will say that no one ever shouted down the hall that my walker was beautiful, so I'll gladly take the compliments!  Physically, walking with Clark is so much more natural and just plain better all around.

We've learned a few things this week, such as when kids touch all the interactive murals in the hall, it smells good enough for a dog to lick.  So we'll work on that.

A couple people have stopped to ask about Clark because a family member is looking into getting a service dog, and they want to know about SDP.  It's so great to be able to spread the word about the Danes, and to have Clark as such a wonderful example.  There was also a nurse who wanted to know where Clark was from.  I told her SDP, and immediately she said "oh, that's my charity!  I donate to them because I have a Dane!"  Not only was it a good conversation while I was waiting on a patient, it was very rewarding to connect with someone who supports SDP and to show her the impact that her support has on recipients like me.

At home, Clark is becoming good friends with our other dog, Phoebe.  They love playing together, and are getting used to the size difference--she's only 25 lbs, but that doesn't stop her!  Work hard, play hard...that seems to be the motto.

 devlin deals nicely with what is one of the hardest training situations... gretchen wants only to look at the door-- her head is out there..and when she ca't see the door , her solution is to lean heavily on devlin-- smile at her and turn circles...  her head is just somewhere else.... and when devlin resorts to cookies-- then her mind is on cookies.... i finally stopped watching so i did not see the very end..  but this is one tough dog.

in the pursuit of clarity of messaging.....

  at last night's  trainer talk  the question was... is noel in heat?  -- charlie's steve said  "no"and i needed the answer clarified, knowing how quickly the red drip can suddenly start, -- so he backed around and said "as of 15 minutes ago --- no" -  much better answer.

as we approached mail call,  meaty steve came into the kitchen and said"way to go hen... we have one hen just laid 8 eggs"-- now if his way of conversing was to put that on facebook, neither grace nor i would have seen it..   and it would have gone around teh world that we had a hen who lays 8 eggs a day--causing thousands of people to storm up the driveway with banners about feed the hungry world----- fortunately by actually TALKING,   not only  all the city folk in the kitchen heard it, but grace and i  did hear it and could respond--- in words spoken .. not typed.. that hens have a pequiliar  reproductive system--- of which alot of city folk are unaware. 

  

i bet you can hardly wait to hear about  chickens  and eggs--.. but first-- lets straighten out the  passing of truth in messaging..

steve should have said "i saw a hen sitting on 8 eggs" and left out his  assumption that she had laid the 8 which would inadvertently perpetuate a falsehood .

now-- about the chickens--firstly-- i know very little -but i have watched them for years.---they lay eggs about one every 36 hours---without a rooster around, they lay eggs... but those eggs don't hatch-- if there is a rooster in the herd-- the eggs will hatch into baby chicks... especially if a hen does the hatching...i have tried with styrofoam, thermometers, light bulbs, water spray, #2 pencils and my average is about 2 out of a dozen.  a hen is  12 out of 12--much better at it.-- because she knows exactly what she is doing--- and does it.  i tell you , rushing home from dinner because you have to roll the eggs around looses it's fascination...  the hen does not need to make marks on the eggs with a #2 pencil to be sure each gets rotated the right direction at the right time.-- and the bottom of a hen  is 99.5 degrees without diddling with light bulbs, fans,and thermometers.  just try it any you will appreciate mommy nature much better.

  the other strange thing is once hen #1 lays an egg in nest #7-- then all the other hens in the bunch will struggle to lay their eggs in the same nest--  when there is a bunch,  they will then nominate  one as the  broody hen to sit on and hatch the bunch of  chicks..

i have heard-- and have nothing to base this on....but one rooster squirt is good for 30 days  or about 20  fertile eggs...

the complication sets in if you have a timid egg collector who does not clear out all the eggs from under every pecking hen every day--- so when the  brave egg collector comes along and sweeps all the eggs out from all the nests, you could end up  cracking  the egg into the fry pan only to have  a half hatched embryo--- and fabreeze would not help  that situation.

IT HAPPENS-- AND WHEN IT HAPPENS  AN ALARM SHOULD BE SENT TO EVERYONE-- INCLUDING ME.... BECAUSE ALTHO I MAY HAVE TO PAY MANY DOLLARS TO THE SWEAR BEAR-- I HAVE HAD MORE EXPERIENCE THAN MOST WITH LOOSE ANIMALS-  THERE ARE TRICKS.. 

 MY SPECIALITY IS LOOSE HORSES-- HAVING HAD A BUNCH OF KIDS AND PONYS IN A 4H CLUB- HARDLY A DAY WOULD GO BY WITHOUT SOMEONE FALLING OFF AND A PONY OR HORSE RUNNING WILDLY AROUND... A BUCKET WITH A LITTLE GRAIN IS THE STANDARD... HOWEVER-- IF YOU DON'T HAVE THAT, IF YOU HOLD YOUR HANDS OUT FLAT AND RUB THEM TOGETHER-- THE NOISE WILL SOMETIMES  FOOL THE HORSE TO THINKING IT IS A TREAT OF SOME KIND---- SO AS HIS NOSE GOES IN ONE HAND YOU CAN QUIETLY TAKE HOLD OF HIS HALTER---LACKING HALTER.. AND  WE STOOD AROUND FREEZING  WHILE THE WHOLE THING  GOT HELD UP WHILE THEY BROUGHT IN A SNOW MAKING MACHINE TO COVER UP THE DIRTY PILES OF PLOWED UP STREET SLUSH.  --  I WAS A TOTAL OUTSIDER WITH MY CRATE OF CHICKENS....- THESE PEOPLE HAD BEEN LIVING  IN CLOSE QUARTERS WITH EACH OTHER FOR A COUPLE MONTHS WORKING ON THE MOVIE... 

THE MAIN ACTORS WERE GREAT-- THEY PUT UP WITH IT VERY PROFESSIONALLY-  BUT THERE WERE A BUNCH OF UNDERSTUDIES- WHO WERE VERY WELL PAID-- WHO WERE NASTY-- AND ONE OF THE BIG NAMES  OBSERVED AND SAID.... "TIME WOUNDS ALL HEELS"  ---

We know you don't do Facebook, but here's the update we posted on Team Hunter & Wendy tonight.  ~ Kelly & Andy

Hunter had a busy therapy day, so I'm (Kelly, Hunter & Wendy's mom) posting for him tonight. Hunter's dad sent me this picture, "Look Mom, no hands...on a rockerboard!" I guess he did weight shifibg side to side on it as well as holding his balance with it flat.  That's pretty insane considering Hunter will be postop week 8 on Thursday!! He is doing amazing! Today during therapy he did a squat and got up from the floor with minimal help from his PT. And he walked 20 minutes on the treadmill with the harness on, but it was not supporting any of his weight. And the biggest thing he did today was another first since the surgery....steps with Wendy!❤  Look for videos of that to come! I love the first one because of Wendy tail! It wagged like crazy, she was so happy! They did great for the first time. Hunter was on the opposite side he normally uses, he had his PT, Pam's hand on the other side for a little extra support and Wendy just wanted to go with Hunter because of all her excitement! Hunter used the "one step, whoa" technique and talked Wendy through it. They made it about 30 ft, including 2 doorways...not bad for the first time! Hunter's got a long way to go, but this is a way for them to start as a team again, and be even better! Sorry for the rambling, but we are so proud of Hunter and his progress in such a short time, and Wendy and her patience and unconditional love for Hunter! She is the reason he is doing so well, getting him stronger before th e surgery and motivation for after the surgery!❤

I HAVE HEARD FACEBOOKING   HAS AFFECTED INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS --- WHICH COULD BE A GOOD THING--- MIGHT WIPE OUT TEENAGE PREGNANCY.    I HAVE FOUND IT IS VERY LIKE MOST OF THE  POLITICAL NEWS... IF YOU DON'T WATCH IT... NOTHING HAPPENS..

i have had a complaint about the daily doggie being too spicy and  at times controversial-- leaving me only to talk about applesauce and oatmeal

---  i was going to mention peanut butter  but that is the kind of thing that got the objection... ?don't i realize how many people are allergic to peanut butter?  how insensitive of me to even mention it !

honestly -- there are times.......and yesterday was one of them.

let it be known  if you send me any email  it is inclined to be included in the daily doggie    so don't complain if it is.  if you have private information to give me....call me with information  , in all probabliity  i forget it as soon as i hang up-- so it is safe...

 thank heavens i have such a poor memory that  i  can't remember names or perceived problems..

thanks to bella we have had many letters-- mostly about volunteering-  many with children with various problems- i wish we could help them all...  but this email struck a note....  i have  carefully removed the names because  i don't want anyone complaining about  publishing names without permission. i even removed which bone he was minus for fear of repercussions -- i tell you this business of being public can be a problem....  sounds like this person is where i was 15 years ago--- maybe .....

Hello I am sure you guys receive so many messages I really hope this makes it. I am a Dane breeder and we have been working on becoming certified therapy Danes. Recently I was approached by a mother of a young boy who was born with a disability named xxxxx. I'm going to include her page because it's much better at explaining  xxxx  disability. The short version is he was born without an xxxxxx bone. He will have to have lengthening surgeries throughout his life. 

His mother xxxxx   has requested for xxxx t o start with a therapy dog but one day xxxx could use a balance/service dog. In our area, Lower PA Chester County, I've contacted many service dog training companies but no one will train or help me train or even point me towards the correct direction on how to train a Dane because of their short life span makes them "unfit" to be service dogs is what I was told by multiple companies. I did some more research and found your website and thought I'd reach out to see if you could please help me to help xxxxx   and other children like him. I have vowed to do everything I can to help him and his mother and now other families with children who have the same condition (which most of the time results in amputation) have also come forward pleading for help. If there is anything books, program suggestions or anything I would be most grateful!

so i sent her  the thing  i just wrote  about our spoon feeding  technique of training a dane...  which was for the adi newsletter...and  welcomed her into the fold.

the need is huge-- the danes are good-- even great--- so as i type--- i have been shuffling related info to renee on the west coast- with the hopes she might pull something together out there... eventually   best case  would be for her to become her own 501 c 3 ---  but maybe for now we could manage to keep a few other dane operations  under our umbrella....

i have a small salt shaker which i keep under my monitor for those steak and egg breakfasts donna is so good at makeing. -- it is nearly empty--it holds maybe less that ¼ cup .  but i suddenly realized that still is a heck of alot of salt i have eaten.   couple few grains of salt a day and  ¼ cup... gone ?????

  i don't want to offend anyone.... but things like Coronary Artery disease come to mind....

someone who should know what a mare's milk bag looks like  told me-- there aint nothin yet...

  it is tough to judge what grace tells me-- she is used to dairy cows...  full production of a horse the milk department is ½ a softball size..

and the size of the baby horse they are feeding is about the size of a calf... and the cow has  udders the size of 2 basketballs

IF YOU HAVE A FEW RATS IN THE BARN- AT LEAST  YOU KNOW THERE ARE NO

DEADLY CHEMICALS AROUND.

AND RE THINK MAUDE'S IMPENDING BIRTH...  HOPEFULLY IT IS STILL IMPENDING....  THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS AND SHE SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE THE BABY OURSIDE BUT----WILD ANIMALS CAN GET INTO TROUBLE IN THE VULERNABLE PROCESS OF BIRTH.   

CONSTRUCTION WILL BEGIN AS SOON AS I GET SOME HEAVBY LIFTING VOLUNTEERS TO HELP RE CONFIGURE THAT STALL.

WE HAVE 2 PERFECTLY GOOD "PORTABLE STALLS"  IN  BOTH THE HORSE TRAILER AND THE MINI DONKEY TRAILER WHICH IS SITTING THERE DOING NOTHING.  THAT PONY CAN GO IN ONE OF THEM TIL AFTER THE SNOW ( WHICH WE ARE SUPOPOSED TO GET TODAY.)

THOSE RESCUES ARE AWFULLY THIN TO LEAVE OUT IN A WET SNOW.  THE 2 HORSES HAVE A LAYEER OF BLUBBER THAT WOULD SURVIVE ALMOST ANYTHING.  SO WE NEED TO RE THINK.

CURRENT PLAN... SUBJECT OT REVISION AT ANY MONENT IS TO PUT MAUDSE INTHE BIGGER PART OF STALL BY ADDING ANOOTHERE CHANI LINK BARRIER FROM OUTSIDE DOOR TO ALLEYWAY DOOR... I AM THINKING THE LITTLE DONKEYS COULD KEEP THEMSELVES TOGETHER WITHOUT FIGHTING AND MAUDE COULD HAVE THE 12 X 12  ISH AREA TO HERSELF.  WITH STRAW-- AND PLYWOOD ADDED  BETWEEN THE BIG HOUIRSE AND HER WOULD GIVE HER SOME PRIVACY....  SHE WOULD THEN  BE THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT OUTDOOR ACCESS..  SOMETHING I AVOID AROUND HERE.

 ATHLETE'S FOOT "IF  YOU WOULD LOOSE 20 POUNDS IT WOULD NOT  BOTHER YOU AS MUCH"

THAT WAS HIS ANSWER FOR ANY COMPLAINT I HAD....THE PROBLEM  IS ,,,, HE WAS NOT WRONG...

Clark has done very well today at his first day with me at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.  It's been a quiet day (and a short one), so good for him to get to check things out for the first time.  Earlier, we walked outside, uphill towards another part of the hospital.  It's not a steep incline, but I haven't been able to do that in about a year!  Also, everyone at my office is so impressed by Clark.  There is one woman that I work with who is afraid of dogs--she did come by to see me and Clark.  She said that she doesn't like when dogs come up to her and sniff her and want attention--I told her that it's his job to NOT do that!  She replied that she wished all dogs were like that, and that Clark is the first dog she's ever liked!  Not bad for a day's work.

IT WAS THE SMALLEST PLANE SHE HAD BEEN ON IN A WHILE-- BUT THE WENT RIGHT AT IT... AND HE FIT..

how on earth did it get to be friday so soon? biggest event of the day ... is  explore wants to do a live on  facebook filming of  teh crazy acres experience...at 3:30 eastern daylight time... with both megan and kati  hosting  ...something abotu some new deal about  live filming on facebook.... seeing as i don't do facebook anyway, teh added complication of live film is too much for my meager tech abilities.  i might sit around in a golf cart with bentley and supervise... he is colorful  sitting there with me. object being to make it a lively-- i should say visually lively episode--  so my plan is to start spoon feeding  in the arena add  running  with puppies and kati having them og over  the play toys there...  megan talikg about going out with the older ones.... then doing the laundry-- changing a fluffy or two....suppertime ( may be earlier than usual) showing filling the bowls .  then standing for supper at the tables... if we can swap cameras... we might be able to switch to trainer questions  before mail call... with dog draped all over the mail call area. courtney says it will be simple just push a button on your cell...-- then i asked her how to turn on my cell phone....  but assured her kati and meg could manage.... so that is the  plan... *** ****** well-  i did not plan on snow.....  depending on her milk bag production..... i figured i would bring in our prego  donkey in the big stall for her to foal-- and just leave  the others out-- which i still may do...but these poor creatures that just arrived  from those kill pens in texas , do not have much fat on them to withstand a snowstorm--- could be that  one fat horse may have to stand in the snow.  they are all wild animals you remember...- and the horses have plenty of blubber to keep them warm. i need to go buy straw--- for prego bedding-- straw is the yellow-ish  bales not eatable...  as opposed to hay which is eatable and grey green. so we will have straw...like the fancy race horses get--- (out of the fun fund at  $8.50 a bale------ fun fund=  money for unnecessary but nice  expenses.  (-- i personally provide the hay and shavings... you know the expression "it ain't hay you know  " referring to the expense-- hay is morel like $12 a bale fot the big canadian bales. with wire  and $10 for the new york state with blue string) that is your education for the day also joyce is going to try and move the  puppy room camera to that stall  from kennel 10-- probably saturday. ****** w/r/t/   clark---- wooowooowooo Will send pictures and write more later but wanted to let you know that the flight went well. The biggest issue we had was Clark not wanting to go into the bathroom stall at the airport (in all fairness, it was small for a handicap stall). Clark and I are home now, enjoying the sunshine. He is checking out everything in his new home. It went well (so far) introducing our other dogs, too. He didn't seem big until he was next to them! and then -- -I'm sorry I missed mail call, but Clark has done very well today. We went to the pet store up the street to pick up a few things and had time to relax and start settling in. I am attaching a few photos from today. We have not made this public yet anywhere, but Hunter & Wendy have been asked to be a representatives for Boston Children's hospital, from maine, to go Washington DC in June to be part of family advocacy day. This is where kids from around the country go to talk to their states government officials to talk about issues that effect kids and the children's hospitals system . Team Hunter and Wendy will be the Children's Hospital Assocation's first service dog family representatives. We need to write short bios for each of them and were wondering if there is anything you would like us to include in Wendy's. We will try to include as much as we can in under 200 words.   We will be making this public soon, We hope to bring more attention and support to SDP, as Hunter would not be where he is today without Wendy and SDP! He never leaves my side, walks at my pace, hops out of my car at attention and is all business, helps me maneuver obstacles such as inclines, curbs, stairs and much more, all by voice I hardly need to give him a tug anymore.
